This place is very cool. Great for kids to learn about the war and aviation history. The very first flight simulator is here and you can try out your skills in flying. Highly recommend coming here if you are passing through. Open daily from 10 am to 4 pm except public holidays. For campers, you can also stay the night, donations welcome. Toilets are provided as well as a dump point.

On our way to Melbourne We had a very nice experience with Nhill Aviation Heritage Centre. Volunteer Allan is so knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the history of this training base. There is also a Link Simulator there which is also very interesting. The toilets are very clean. Worth the visit. Let us keep this heritage centre keep going. Thank you.

Great place! We also parked up in our motorhome here. Plenty of space. We have a large rig, so it is very easy to move around. Nice and flat. No toilet or bathroom on camping site. But toilet available over at the museum. Golf Club 3 minutes down the road. Very close to town, about 5 minutes by car. Donation camp.

What an absolute gem to the town of Nhill. We happened to come across this place as we were looking for a place to stay the night. We just completed a transfer of ownership with our new Pod trailer and didn't want to drive 4hrs home in the dark. The night was peaceful with only one other van parked nearby. Next morning we discovered the heritage walk that covers the property that was once the RAAF training base for WW2. We found it very informative and interesting with the site having some remains of the surviving building sites. We also visited the museum and was greeted by the most friendly and warm couple with the passion this facility deserves. Thanks Len and Jenny for the lovely chat and hospitality. We will be back to stay again. Camping is free by a donation is worth it, it all goes towards the museum and the great...

Friendly volunteers running the place, very informative. 3.75 planes on display. They have an Avro Anson that needs a wing - had both engines that can work. 1.4km walk with notes about the RAAF buildings there in the 1940s. I was lucky, once a month they open the Aeradio building, the last of 16 such in Australia. Steve was my guide, great knowledge of the...
