An absolute gem of a spot. We drove into the park on a whim after visiting Channon Tavern and we're so glad we did. The drive in was littered with trees covered in stag and elk horns as well as bird's nests. There were several bridges and a ford with beautiful views of the creek below. A nice prelude to the main event. There is parking for about ten cars at the turnaround in the end of the road. From here you can access Terania picnic area or head off up the boardwalk and from the end of the boardwalk you can follow the trail to the falls. The Forest is lush and beautiful with so many lovely sights. The last 50-70m of the trail are a little more on the difficult side with some climbing up man made rock stairs and a short wooden staircase but oh so worth the effort once you see the falls. Just a reminder there is no swimming in the park but there are swimming spots on the road in which really are lovely. I believe that the boardwalk can be accessed by wheelchair and it is truly worth the...
Read moreViews were great from the top. Toilets, 2 x BBQ facilities (one out of order) and picnic tables at the top. Wished there was more time to do the 9km walk to Waterfall base. 4.5km down to the base and back up the same way. Did the 40m boardwalk to the viewing platform. Platform right next to Waterfall so you can't really see much of it, but great views of the national park and cliffs. Walked about 600m into the base track to get a better view of the Waterfall. Road to summit is riddled with pot holes and narrow in some places. 2wd fine but can be tricky when meeting incoming traffic (only reason...
Read moreAn amazing water fall and scenic view of the the valley! Just a short drive from Byron Bay and definitely worth it. The hike down is best for a intermediate hiker. The hike is 4~5hrs, water breaks and photo opportunities. It could be done by a beginner in physical shape with patience and breaks in between. If you have a small rental car, the road gets a little rough towards the top were heavy rains created deep ravines in the road. We made it up and can be done, being very careful not to bottom out. I would not try it after a heavy rain storm or during! Maybe...
