WOW ... What a view!
The road up is NOT suitable for caravans, and possibly camper trailers. It's steep and winding up and around the mountain.
The views on the way up through the trees just get better and better ... It's like a tease of what you'll get at the top.
Carpark layout is great with plenty of easy access parking. Shady tables and BBQ facilities.
But, it's the view both out to the North (looking out over Laurieton, North Haven, up the coast to Bonny Hills, Lake Cathie and Port Macquarie) and then over the other side of the carpark to the South (looking out to John's River, Ross Glen and Crowdy Head).

Read moreOne of those looks outs where the actual view is better than the picture ! - stunning views of Laurieton and Dunbogan from above. Was very windy when we went. On a Sunday evening there was just one another family up there, plenty of parking available too. And it’s quite a short drive up the mountains from Laurieton. Getting a great pic might be a bit difficult (with a phone that is) though because of all those trees that grow out into the view (you could step down a bit and get a better snap I guess). Nevertheless you could just sit and spend hours together looking at the view alone. Absolutely worth it,...

PLEASE NOTE, THOUGH, AS OF APRIL 2022 THE ROAD TO THE LOOKOUT IS STILL CLOSED DUE TO A LANDSLIDE.
We are so sad this has been left unrepaired now for many months. Please plan to come back in the future when it's cleared - just check before you come.
In the meantime, Laurieton and the Camden Haven are still beautiful places to explore with many waterways, beaches, walks, cafes. Enjoy...
