A really fascinating look into history. Self guided and free (although donations are welcome), there is a really good route to walk with boards that tell the history and show what it would have looked like when in operation. The jetty is a lovely and peaceful spot. The volunteer caretakers are lovely and a great source of knowledge. Plenty of wildlife too. Definitely...

Unfortunately the weather was not kind so we did not go down to the jetty and have a really good look around externally. Grounds did appear to be well maintained. Learnt lots as I had no idea prior to stopping exactly what it was all about. Thank you to the volunteer who was keen & eager and happily engaged with us sharing...

Well worth the visit if you go to the island. To read some of the information on what happened to the men from the war where put though when they came back.

Such interesting history, particularly in these current times of global pandemic. We were greeted by a friendly volunteer guide and then spent an hour wandering the site by ourselves and reading the information signs. Be aware the entry road is a narrow, winding gravel affair, but don't let it out you off.

A lot of history at this quarantine station. This station was used to quarantine plants and humans. Nice views including a fish farm. The on-site volunteers who manage the facility were very friendly and informative.
