Just been to the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair and the woman representing the Art Centre was the most rude, arrogant and stuck up person who made derogatory remarks .... I was disgusted by her and the fact she was representing the centre. Her and her friend carried on their conversation - terribly sorry to have interrupted you with my measly purchase! Her and her friend rudely were commenting said oh these little birds are for those who are cheap and want to get some art ... well some people just like them because they are nice not for the supposedly cheap price. I have bought pieces previously from them both at daaf and at the centre direct and never encountered...
Read moreWonderful experience and tour, our guide Philmean (?) sorry if that’s wrong spelling mate, was absolutely awesome, local Tiwi bloke, shared many cultural, historical and personal stories with us. Had a smoking ceremony (informative, and we were part of it) morning tea (homemade damper) tour of the museum (excellent) chat in the shade about the church that featured in top end wedding, looked at the local fish trap, had lunch and then screen printed shirts or tea towels with Alan, Kiera and Shelley (which we got to keep) this was a highlight and really interesting, back on the ferry to Darwin. 👍👍👍 top notch...

I cannot recommend the tour with Tiwi Design highly enough.
Our guide Vivian was 'simply the best'. What a beautiful kind human being that shared his wonderful culture and stories with us.
And Alan also made us all feel very special.
I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to do this tour and to purchase the wood carvings I did.
I will always cherish them and the memories I have of the day.
Oh and the lunch was more than anyone in the group could expect - everyone said they through the lunch...
