Interesting name and location drew us to this winery, shame that this was the highlight of the journey. Modern, newish infrastructure was the highlight of a disappointing stop. The customer service/relations was non existent as we were ignored upon arrival and further disregarded during the uninformed “tasting” of their wines. No wines list information sheet or price list, little to no background or content on manufacture or taste highlights and less concern around the correct sampling of wine (had to request a clean glass for red tasting and water for palate cleansing). Hosts adopted an arrogant (probably uninformed) position around our simple and polite requests for assistance and clearly have little idea of business standard measures of this marvellous and exciting industry. Wines were syrupy, sweet and generally average in execution and labelling. The cheese plate offered was interesting and tasty. Overall, an example of how not to cellar door, with average wines and less than average hostesses. A good function venue if the...
Read moreThe place and surrounding was nice, the wines were good and we had a nice experience until it came time to pay. The wine tasting was $10 a head. All the wineries don't charge this fee if you purchase wine except for this winery. I indicated to them that I wanted to buy 4 bottles of wine but they were not going to waive the wine tasting fee. The owners of the business are stingy and it ruined the experience. Won't be going back there.
Update 18/6/22 - The owner has responded nearly 11 months after my original review. This typifies their service. I was committed to purchasing a number of bottles of wine at the time and the owner certainly did not at any stage advise me that the wine tasting fees would be waived with a purchase of a dozen bottles of wine. I note with interest other reviews made by people about the ordinary service. I agree and felt that the owners were arrogant based on my own experience. The owners should decide if they are in the business of selling tastings or selling...
Read moreI have been fortunate to be able to attend this venue on multiple occasions and have always found the service to be of the highest standard especially when needing to manage expectations and the needs of customers and staff. The wines have always been sensational and a conversation with the winemaker Brendon is enlightening and friendly with a huge understanding of the processes he has developed Over the past 20years. The addition of a Rose to the wine list has rounded off a fantastic range with subtle flavours and to compliment the fuller bodied reds and cebratory sparkling wines. This is a wonderful family business that has been recognised as a finalist in the Community Service Awards Customer Service section well worth a visit and whhen you do make sure you sit down with Brendon and...
