This is a great spot for setting up for up three nights (72hr maximum allowed). Lovely views, great for kayaking, although not the largest waterway, and it's very close to town and other spots to visit for day trips (Kanangra Boyd NP, which is great for walks and swimming under a waterfall). The only issue with the Reef Reserve is the absolutely disgusting state of the toilets. Unlike NSW National Parks Services who daily clean their drop toilets, these toilets look and smell like they've never been cleaned. Thankfully the town of Oberon is so close it meant we could pop into town for serious business ;) . I definately recommend the spot but be warned, the toilets are not for the faint hearted!!! (You'll be pleased I didn't post any photos).

The Reef Reserve is a picturesque lakeside park that offers a stunning natural landscape with breathtaking views. The park is well-maintained and offers visitors a range of amenities, including picnic areas and scenic walking trails that provide an opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty of the lake. The park is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. I enjoyed the tranquil ambiance of the park and the various bird species sightings that added to the park's natural beauty. The Reef Reserve is an ideal destination for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a relaxing outdoor experience in a serene and tranquil setting with a beautiful lake view.

Bents Basin is a beautiful and peaceful spot surrounded by nature with amazing views. It’s a great place to relax and unwind. You’ll need to bring your own firewood, but fire pits are available, and many campsites are conveniently located right next to car parking so you can easily set up your tent. The atmosphere is quiet and calm — no loud music is allowed after 10 PM, which makes it perfect for enjoying the natural surroundings. Rangers usually come in the morning to check bookings and car registrations, so make sure you book in advance before heading there. There are also some lovely walking tracks to explore, making it a wonderful getaway for nature lovers.
