If you enjoy your outdoors then this is a must visit location. The park is where the Turon River begins at the juction of Coolamigal & Jews Creeks. The area was worked for its gold back in the gold rush days (1851) and you can still see the remains of many of the alluvial working along the banks of the river. Access to the park is by 4WD. The quickest is from the Castlereagh Highway onto Lockhaber Road, Lockaber Link Road then Steep Hill Road. If you enjoy your four wheel driving then entering the park from the south will give you great pleasure. From Dark Corner Road follow Blackbutt Mountain Road then onto Dark Corner Mountain Trail until you get to Pinnacle Fire Trail. As its a difficult track you should always travel with a group of exoerienced drivers with equipment for recovery and repairs. Lots of river crossings and hard wombat tracks to navigate.
