Utterly bizarre customer management. This is a frustrating review as we've been Wine Club members for a few years and have visited the winery several times. We've also previously written a five star review of the wines and the winery.

In opening a bottle of Midnight Cuvee three weeks ago I cut my fingers and hand - the cork had been forced into the bottle so a small sliver sheared off leaving a sharp edge (see photos).

I emailed our regular contact to let them know ("Absolutely no complaint from us, as I'm sure this was just a one off - genuinely just want to make you aware just in case there is a problem (I work in risk management, so bizarrely we like it when things actually go a little wrong from time to time as it helps us improve)."

No response. I followed up a week later to express my disappointment that nobody had been in touch - again no response.

Sent a third email yesterday saying that the lack of acknowledgment left us with no option but to cancel our wine subscription. Which they promptly did. Again, no contact or acknowledgement.

We didn't complain. We didn't seek a refund. A polite, informal email was just ignored. Clearly business must be booming for these folks as they weren't bothered in the slightest and happy to lose a customer.

Maybe I'm getting old and have different standards but was a simple "oops, sorry" really too much trouble ? As other reviews here and on TA highlight - "ZERO hospitality or tourism skills" as well as "unprofessional and rude". Spot on - they were charming when we were handing over money though.

As someone once wrote, the mark of a good company is how they respond when things don't go exactly...

Their platter is to die for. Been here twice, and came back the second time specially for the platter! Generous servings, and the croquettes and arancini balls were perfectly done, beautifully crisp on the outside and smooth, creamy and flavourful inside. The ham! Not too salty and just full of porky goodness. The blue cheese is delicious hunk of funky goodness that we enjoyed smearing on fresh, fluffy foccacia (with the toasted ends that we all loved). The salad and relishes - well dressed and a symphony of sweet salty and tart, they held their own against the meat. Hell yes to the salmon, rilette and terrine! Perfectly balanced platter (and it changes subtly each time you visit). We topped it up with an additional serve of croquettes and a serve of meatballs. Oh the meatballs were morsels of mouthfeel perfection - one of the best minced textures I've had in a long time with the right amount of meaty chew! Service was friendly, they have a beautiful outdoor area and they clearly take pride in the food and wine they serve (also great wines here btw - the UBF is just so interesting!) Definitely worth a drive for an overall delightful...

I was really looking forward to coming out here today. I had heard really great things from a friend. The venue is pretty and the set menu local food platter was nice and we paired it with a lovely Chardonnay. Unfortunately, the overall experience was not great though. We asked for a wine tasting and it was the worst one I have had. We were asked to move inside, which is fine, but the server promptly forgot about us. Our food sat outside in the sun with the flies while he reused our glasses for whites, reds and sparkling and could not recommend even one to have with our meal.

We then asked for more bread, which I had to ask for three times, it was over 20 mins before it came. We also asked for another bottle of wine but the server never came back.. they then cleared our glasses .. so had clearly forgotten us again. It was not that busy considering it was a set menu! Ended up leaving without buying anything to take away although we wanted to....

Amazing experience!!! Séan met us as we strode up to the cellar door and gave us an impromptu tour of the corking process for bubbles "methode tradionelle"...... absolutely intriguing! The freezing process following time on lees, the cork size pre insertion...... to see it in action was incredible!! Then upstairs for an amazing platter & wine tasting with Linda! That platter was next level......catering for our dietary requirements and also substantial!!! Linda's wine knowledge was exceptional! We will definitely be back.....and.......Linda, we hope you celebrated your birthday in style following dry July! 🙌🥂🎉
