Popped in today to grab a nice bottle of wine for the afternoon and met Troy behind the counter — what a legend! He was fantastic to chat with and had an incredible amount of knowledge about the wines, the winery, and even the surrounding ones. You can tell he absolutely loves what he does — his passion and enthusiasm really shine through.
Troy answered every question with genuine interest and shared some great stories about the winery’s history. I ended up walking out with a few delicious bottles: a Sauvignon Blanc, a late harvest Viognier, a 2021 Old Vine Shiraz, and the pièce de résistance — a 2019 The Calling.
I’ve tried all except The Calling so far, and every one has been fantastic — full of the fruity flavours I love. Opened the Old Vine Shiraz at home overlooking the river and, my golly, it was a cracker!
Highly recommend stopping by for a tasting, a chat, and to say hi to Troy if he’s there — he made the whole experience so much better. I’ll definitely be back to pick up more bottles (and a bit of Christmas cheer) to share with family...

The cellar door and wines themselves are also fantastic, no surprises thay we went home with a case of wine.
Mount Avoca is a great base to explore regional Victoria, particularly for wine and food lovers. We...
