Are you or your kids airplane lovers then The Perth airport viewing point is really a great option to get an awesome view of flight landing and take off. The flight landing 🛬 view is good and very close to the view point. The flight take off 🛫view too is good but not so close to the viewing area because few flights 🛫 take off soon before reaching the viewing area. The place is set in a very beautiful way. The viewing area is set in a very simple way and in a ramp style. There are few seating arrangements. But on sunny days it's very hot. It's good to bring water and hats. It's good to check the flight times before planning a trip to the viewing area. There are no toilet facilities available. Entry is free but there is timing April- September-7:30am to 5:30pm October - March-6:30am to 7:00pm Parking is available

It’s a great place to come and spend some time. Either waiting for FIFO flights, interstate, international or just to spend time. It’s become a busy spot for all ages and abilities to enjoy aeroplanes. My daughter is in a wheelchair and is able to self propel her self up the ramp. If you have a power assist or a powered chair it does make it easier. No toilets. No fountains so bring water. You can BYO a picnic or snacks. You can BYO your chair as there is limited seating available. Another great place to visit if you love planes and are mobility challenged is Jandakot Airport. Get some smaller aircraft out there. Picnic tables, fountain and toilets on site. Very wheelchair friendly. BYO water and picnic/snacks. There is a cafe but it’s been closed of late.

The public viewing lookout at Perth Airport offers a great spot for aviation enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. Located just outside the airport, it provides an excellent vantage point to watch planes take off and land. The view of the runway is unobstructed, and there are shaded areas with seating, making it a comfortable place to relax. There’s also ample parking available nearby, which is convenient for short visits. It's a peaceful spot to take in the activity of the airport, especially for families or those who enjoy watching aircraft in action. Highly recommend for a short visit!

Years ago, when I came here, people were being interviewed about what improvements they'd like to see to the public viewing area. It's a shame that nothing seems to have happened. The top suggestion was a toilet block, to which the interviewer responded that there were no water pipes immediately in the area. Just an FYI, Penguin Island has a toilet block and plenty of areas in the country have long-drop toilet blocks without actually being near water pipes. It's okay if you don't want to install toilets at this free facility, but don't ask for everyone's feedback and then not actually do anything in response to it.

Toilets would still be welcome. A vending machine too perhaps? If the Japanese can plonk a vending machine on the top of a mountain, I'm sure one could be installed here. Maybe the profits from the vending machine would help pay...
