This is "the" place to take photos of the sunset as the name suggests. But it also means hundreds of people will be there with you. I suggest turning up at least an hour before sunset and aim for the very last section in the parking lot. If you are in the middle, you will have a lot of people walking by. There are plenty of parking spots and standing area. We came in early September and the park was closing at 7:30 pm, so the chance of taking some Astrophotography and getting a shot of the rock with stars above are virtually impossible. Experiencing the sunset view at Ayers Rock is truly magical. The gentle whispers of the wind soothe the mind, creating a serene atmosphere that feels almost spiritual. As you watch, the rock seems to connect to your soul, offering a profound sense of peace and wonder.

The most captivating moment is observing the rock shift colors as the sun sets, transitioning through a spectrum of hues that highlight its natural beauty. This mesmerizing display is unforgettable and leaves you with a deep appreciation for nature's artistry.

Ayers Rock at sunset is a must-see for anyone seeking a moment of tranquility and connection with the natural world. It’s an awe-inspiring experience that resonates long after the sun has dipped below...

Some tours even set up chairs and sit down tables for their patrons. There is still ample space for people to get their photos etc, so don’t worry.

It’s definitely a great site to watch the sunset. The sun doesn’t set behind Uluṟu, so there is no glare in the photos.

I would definitely recommend booking a tour to come here as they share the Indigenous stories and cultural history of Uluṟu. There are also Indigenous women who do dot painting and you’re able to...
