I visited this amazing family-owned (3 generations if I’m not mistaken) vineyard many, many years ago when I was staying in rented accommodation in Sydney and took a walkabout to the Murray River region in Victoria. I’ll never forget the warm reception I received, and today, Sunday 30 July 2023, two weeks before my 77th birthday, I relived the occasion by finding a bottle of Andrew Peace Shiraz, this winery’s signature wine, in a Co-op shop in the small town of Nelson in Caerphilly County in Wales, U.K. My only regret is that I should have bought two bottles, and this being the Welsh Valleys, the weather is true to form: it’s pouring cats and dogs, and it’s a bit of a hike to the shop. Plus the wind’ll turn my brolly inside out before I can say “South Australia.” Go to this winery if you get a chance.
