Nestled in the heart of the Grampians, Pomonal Estate is a true hidden gem. With its stunning views of the surrounding mountains and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to unwind and indulge in some of the region’s finest wines. The winery itself has a cozy yet modern feel, with an inviting cellar door where you can sample a range of locally produced wines. The Sparkling Riesling is an absolute standout, crisp and refreshing—perfect for a warm afternoon. Pair it with their cheese platter for a simple yet indulgent experience, or opt for their wine and chocolate flights if you’re in the mood for something a bit more decadent. What really makes Pomonal Estate special is the laid-back vibe. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to share their passion for the wines they produce and offer recommendations based on your tastes. They also have an impressive selection of board games and a relaxed outdoor area, making it a great spot to linger and enjoy the scenery. If you’re lucky, you might even catch a local market on Sundays, adding to the charm of the place. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or just looking for a peaceful spot to enjoy the beauty of the Grampians, Pomonal Estate should definitely be on your list.

Was excited to visit Pomonal Estate again today and share the experience with a friend from the UK. Our meals were brought out 20 mins apart and we waited over an hour for a pizza. The salad on the menu was a warm seasonal salad with roasted vegetables, there was no roasted vegetables in sight, no pickled red onion, they said the asparagus and snow peas were pan fried but they were definitely not, the salad was served cold and the extra $5 I paid for goats cheese was a joke. When I questioned if I was given the right salad they just said yeah sorry about that. There was cucumber and about 4 cherry tomatoes thrown in there too for good measure. Extremely disappointing and won’t be back.

This review is about a wine we ordered at a Halls Gap restaurant. We will visit the estate in the near future. A balanced #shirazwine to complement our #indianbanquet in #hallsgap This @pomonalestate Shiraz was the ideal choice. Hints of lifted spice, dark cherry and plum left a lingering flavour that was most appealing. Look forward to visit Pomonal Estate and exploring more their wines, ciders and restaurant. . . . #tripadvisor #tripadvisorreview #tripadvisorreviewer #yelp #yelpreview #yelpreviewer #yelpelitesquad #googlelocalguide #googlelicalguides #letsguide #thewanderingreviewer #pomonalestate #pomonalestatewinery

This is a great spot and a must visit if you are in the area.

We arrived at 130pm on Thursday 29 December and a very spritely lady met us and showed us to our table. The venue is well designed, adaptable to the seasons and super kid friendly without imposing on those that may appreciate their day in more peaceful surrounds.

With some menu items sold out and a bit of a wait for food it was evident we had walked into a week or so of insane foot traffic. To their credit they were very upfront it was a 45 minute wait which they did meet to the minute.

Our first dish out was fries which we had ordered as a filler with two teenagers in tow and some of our first choice selections unavailable (fried chicken bao buns we will get you next time....). The fries to start didn't set the scene for a gourmet light lunch but I do understand they were trying to pump the food out.

Drinks wise we started with the 15 dollar beer and cider tasting paddle which was ok, reasonable value and only about a stubbie in total which is good for the driver's.

The cheese platter arrived next which for 30 dollars was generous and tasty, the shredded beetroot as well as the jelly went well with the cheese on offer. The four of us didn't finish it with the other food in total (three other dishes).

We also did the wine paddle for 10 dollars each which at 5 times 30 ml is good value. The wine brand is still developing here which is obvious but it's a reason to support this recent venture.

Then the cauliflower tacos and sweet potato/bean empanadas arrived and they were exceptional. At this point we finally understood how good this young business is and maybe what it could have been on a slightly quieter day.

I say all this to give the venue feedback to continue on thier upward trajectory, but encourage anyone in the area to visit for a light meal and a taste, or could easily be a larger gathering and a nice afternoon out.

Considering they must have been working incredibly hard under high volume pressure for 10 days at least the staff as individuals and as a whole were AMAZING.

We will be back and can't wait to see where the owners take this in the years to...

Sadly an unpleasant experience. We ordered Asian greens which had a soapy chemical taste. Staff were dismissive, saying there was nothing wrong with them( they didn't taste them). We were not given a refund and we were not taken seriously. Also asked several times where drinks were, assured they were coming, third time told we had already received them! Sorry to have to give this review, as we value small local business and understand mistakes are made, but there is a way to deal with complaints and they certainly failed! In response to the owner....I wish to clarify , we only managed to get one lot of drinks, which we enquired about when the food came out, we asked do we have to go to the bar? ,the waitress told us no they will be brought to the table.Sometime later we went to the bar and were told we already had them! When the waiter brought them out , I explained once again about the greens and he said I will arrange a refund. We were there for another hour, but nobody came back to organise it. We felt terribly uncomfortable! Parts of the greens definitely had a detergent chemical taste. The barman was rude in his responses, the owner had plenty of opportunity to approach us, to discuss the the matter. We didn't insist on a booking, if you are busy, don't take the booking. Overall I feel your customer relations are sadly lacking and until you learn to deal with small complaints, you will struggle to run a business! Please send me an email address so you can process...

We were in the Mt William Villa which was a joy to stay in. This villa is fitted out to a very high spec and was extremely comfortable. The picture windows through out meant it was easy to relax with stunning views of the Grampians from the moment you woke up till the darkness meant only the stars were filling the sky. I was extremely impressed with how insulated the villa was considering the large window all down the one length, and once the heaters were turned off the villa maintained a warm temp overnight so that even in the 2 degree morning it was pleasant to be in when we woke to watch the sunrise.||The kitchen (gas cooktop, microwave, full size fridge and BBQ facilities) were perfect to self cater (note there is not a conventional oven). The lounge was comfortable and large enough for two to easy relax on. Gas fire was also a beautiful touch. There were split systems throughout so could easily believe it could be comfortably cooled in the night summer. ||It is situated only 10 minutes to Halls Gap but you have the advantage of feeling remote and relaxed which I feel is an advantage when getting away from the city. The Pomona General Store has a great selection and only a short walk up the road is you did need something in the day. Would...
