This is a rewarding and fairly challenging trail within the Porongurop National Park that begins at the Tree In The Rock carpark along Bolganup Road. We completed this trail after first doing the Granite Skywalk trail at the Castle Rock carpark in the eastern section of the NP earlier in the morning. These two can be conveniently combined on the same day for regular walkers with generally good fitness. You first take the Wansbrough Trail from the same carpark walking 1.6 km before finding the Devil's Slide Trailhead and intersection with the Nancy's Peak Trail as well. The Devil's Slide Trail is then around 1.5 km up a fairly steep granite boulder mountain and back down. Climbing is a quite steep throughout, good walking shoes are highly recommended and some will find the use of a gloves and walking stick helpful. You will walk directly on granite boulder, through slightly heavy vegetation at times and be exposed to the elements throughout. Scrambling is required at a few sections. As you climb Devil's Slide, you will frequently encounter views of surrounding forests and open landscape to the south of Porongurup NP. At higher levels, you will be afforded sweeping panoramic views to the east and northeast where you can see Stirling Range National Park in the distance if visibility is clear. At the top, you will find open granite mountain top with 360 degree panoramic views that are stunning. It was very windy here at the time of our visit so we found it best to take a seat, rest and minimise the effect of the high winds as we enjoyed the views. The walk back down Devil's slide is challenging as well, take it slow if needed. You eventually find yourself back at the trailhead where you return by way of the same Wansbrough Trail until you reach the Tree In The Rock carpark. We spent around 4 hours fully completing the trail. Faster walkers making fewer photography stops will be able to complete in shorter time. In the end, really enjoyed this trail and would happily do it again next time in Porongurup National Park.

I hiked up in the early morning to see the sunrise from the top. Devils slide is the tallest point in Pororgarup National Park, and is an easier alternative to Bluff Knoll. The hike is somewhat difficult, but any remotely active person with at least two functional legs can complete it without issue. Takes about 3 hours return if you take rests and time to enjoy the view. The hike is split into two halves, a gravel trail on a slight incline, followed by a steep ascent. Views from the top are great, and the walk itself is flanked by lush and varied vegetation. If you are like me and do an early morning hike, pick a day without clouds so you can actually see the sun when it rises. Highly recommend if you have functional eyes, legs, lungs and a desire to stand on top of tall things.

Amazing views from the top! Definitely an underated climb in the area. Quite a steep climb and can be slippery when wet (flat rocks, mud on route). If you park where the map is, head back down the road 20m and take a left onto Wansbrough Walk, go up the hill. Take the left when there is a fork with 3 options. The left option is the start of devils slide.
