Tacking Point Lighthouse in Port Macquarie left an indelible mark on my senses, offering a picturesque experience that combined history, breathtaking views, and a connection to nature.

As I approached the lighthouse, the sense of stepping into the past was palpable. The historical significance of the site was beautifully preserved, with the lighthouse standing as a beacon of maritime history. The well-maintained surroundings and informative plaques offered insights into its rich heritage.

Perched atop a rugged coastline, the lighthouse commanded panoramic vistas that took my breath away. The expansive ocean views stretched as far as the eye could see, with crashing waves against the rocks below creating a mesmerizing rhythm. It was a sight that resonated with a sense of tranquility and wonder.

The walking path leading to the lighthouse was a delightful journey in itself. Lined with native flora and fauna, it offered a chance to immerse myself in the natural beauty of the region. The sea breeze and the sound of birdsong provided a soothing backdrop to the stroll.

Upon reaching the lighthouse, the view from its vantage point was simply awe-inspiring. The contrast between the azure sea and the rugged coastline was a sight to behold, making it a photographer's paradise. Watching the sun dip below the horizon from this spot was a truly unforgettable experience.

I visited the Tacking Point Lighthouse after breakfast. The lighthouse is worth visiting. It is relatively small, but neatly kept and photogenic. The view is amazing and the history board around the lighthouse will give you a brief history of the lighthouse and what happens around the area. Besides the lighthouse there is Coastal Snap, a community beach monitoring initiative - find the phone stand where you can take a photo of the coast, and you can upload your photo as part of the communities initiative in observing how the coastline changes over time. The Lighthouse is roughly 10-15 mins drive from the Port Macquarie town centre. The drive was easy but please watch out for cyclists. There were not many parking spots but turnover is quick so...

Fantastic views from the top where the light house is situated with the ocean braking over the rock formations, the beach is awesome Getting to the top of the Lighthouse requires climbing some steps. There is some car parking at the top and bottom of the Lighthouse. Well worth a visit

Picture perfect lighthouse. We were lucky the weather was nice. There are staircases at the left and right hand side of the lighthouse taking to 2 different parts of the beach. The one on the left took us to beautiful small rocky beach and the one on the right took us to beautiful long beach. All are so beautiful to visit. We went separately to the large beach during sunset. Sands were white and soft. Water was shallow, wave was very gentle. Perfect for children to play along the beach. The lighthouse has some carparking spaces on top. You can also drive to the beach below and park at the beach. There is a toilet at the carpark near the beach.
