At this outdoor museum you can go back to the Gladstone Region’s beginnings, exploring buildings that go back to the first half of the 20th century.

These have been moved here piece by piece since the early-1980s and hold a wealth of artefacts painting a picture of daily life and the development of the railways.

A couple of standouts are the Raglan Memorial Hall from 1932 and the Yarwum Railway Station, which serves as the village’s kiosk and ticket office.

Another beautiful piece of railway heritage is a wooden Queensland Rail carriage from the 1940s, alongside two historic camp wagons.

Stay up to date with the village’s calendar as there are regular markets here, hosting traders from as far afield as...

Despite the fact it is owned by Freemasons (the symbols are plotted on signs around the village). It was well kept and full of well lets say "The History they taught us at school". Typical Pioneer village homes, buildings, relics, tractors old equipment, a tiny church, cafe etc. Its well worth a look around and stay overnight in the immense car park (Sunday night is tge quitest) Every other night it's a Huuuuge Truck Stop ~ Some trucks are Refrugerated AND RUN LOUD ALL NIGHT... But safest place, off tge road if you need a break for the night and coffee at the Cafe in the morning. Some days The Driver Reviver Crew arrive (Look for Signs at Entrance from...

Caravans may park on the council site below the village. It is a beautiful park for self contained caravaners and campers, unfortunately, there are no toilets. Unbelievable. No dump site either. But access and egress are easy. When we were there it was quiet at night, with minimal highway noise. Felt secure with plenty of caravaners, but wasn't crowded or suburban. Road in and out good. Across the river causeway (southside) there are facilities, but too far to walk. Campers mostly use the lower bank on the south. The Historic village 'shop' opens at 9 am, closes at 3 pm. Very limited, the Historic village has toilets...

It was relaxing day with the family. We really enjoyed the train, old school room, all the hats through the years and all the other interesting things to see. Being a new Queenslander it’s still exciting to me to see Kookaburras just hanging out around the place. We don’t have that back home. I took a few pics of one that seemed to be just asking for his pic to be taken haha. Though it would be great to see some quality improvement in the cafe food and coffee. I realise this is run by volunteers who where lovely, but I think it could help raise more money. Just a suggestion šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø
