Has to be one of the most scenic waterfalls I have seen, So easy to reach to from car park it has several vantage points to each giving you a unique view. It has food flow all year around…. It has parking and picnic facilities along with toilets !
Carrington Falls, where the Kangaroo River cascades over the sandstone escarpment, is one of the most popular attractions in Budderoo National Park. The area features several walking tracks, including those on the plateau above the rainforest, offering stunning views of sandstone heaths, woodlands, and the Illawarra coast. Visitors can enjoy the falls from three lookouts, one of which is wheelchair-accessible. Picnic facilities and toilets are available at Thomas’ Place and Nellies Glen, with Thomas’ Place also providing exceptional views of the falls from nearby lookouts.
The Carrington Falls picnic area is located within the Carrington Falls precinct of Budderoo National Park. To reach it: • Travel along Jamberoo Mountain Road from either Robertson or Jamberoo. • Turn onto Cloonty Road at the Carrington Falls sign and continue for approximately 2 km. • Turn right into the Carrington Falls picnic area.
Nearby towns include: • Robertson (15 km, about 18 minutes) • Kiama (35 km, about 25 minutes) • Nowra (50 km, about 45 minutes) • Wollongong (50 km,...
Read moreWe visited on a hot summer Sunday and the place was packed. People were parking randomly everywhere obscuring some signs and tracks made it hard to navigate. Hopefully these photos help others with their future visits.
We first parked in what I now know was Nellies Glen car park and walked out about 10 minutes to a valley lookout point. Which was maybe the Warris Chair lookout but am not really sure. We then drove following blue pools/swimming signage to a dead end. It had a toilet, separate camping area (fees apply), and shaded picnic table. Short walk to a water fall swimming hole. We followed the well worn goat track to the left of the picnic table to get there, only later becoming aware, the official signage and track to the blue pools was to the right of that picnic table. Turns out we just went to Nellies Glen from a different access point not blue pools after all. Nonetheless, Nellies Glen was a perfect location for the kids to swim and cool off. Next we headed to the lookout track south of the falls. It was an easy loop walk down to multiple viewing points for the falls and then to the area at the top of the falls in Kangaroo River before heading...
Read moreLocated in the Budderoo National Park, 44-48 Hoddle Street, Budderoo, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 This is a stunning hidden gem. We found by accident today. Just driving by and saw the sign. The walking track is very easy, there are stairs but it’s not hard. Just not really wheelchair accessible. There’s very good toilet facilities available just near the car park 🅿️ along with seating if you wanted to have a picnic 🧺. There’s plenty of parking. There is a great place to swim near the top of the falls. Very easy to access. Really beautiful. The walking track itself is very easy to follow, it’s just a loop that starts and ends at the car park taking you past the waterfall and swimming spot. Along the track, you’ll see some beautiful flora and fauna. The viewing platform of the waterfall offers the most beautiful views of both the forest and the waterfall. I would definitely recommend a visit. I am so glad we found this gem....
