Saltwater National Park — Attraction in Saltwater

A lovely lagoon surrounds the tranquil parkland of Saltwater national Park, Saltwater beach is where the lagoon flows into the Pacific Ocean.The beach is patrolled in the summer months and is very popular with surfboard riders .The lagoon and Bbq facilities are always filled with families enjoying there day out with nature. Wowsers.......Today I called into Saltwater National Park for a late lunch and to check the surfing conditions which were far from optimal given that there was a small south swell and moderate north east wind (on shore sloppy conditions). Beautiful area. Great for a picnic down by the creek. BBQ's available and stunning scenery with wandering paper bark trees stretching out over the creek. Public toilets available. Bush turkeys wandering around and we also managed to spot a monitor (small goanna) climbing a tree. Watch out for hoppy Joe's (jumping ants) if picnicking on the grass.
