Sandy Creek Conservation Park is a beautiful natural area, secluded and varied in its flora and fauna. As a bird enthuisiast it is one of my favourite spots. At certain times of the year, mostly autumn, winter and spring, you will be able to spot a variety of birds, flowering flora and other wildlife. There are a number of signed walking tracks to choose from. There are NO bbq's, toilets or shelters available and strictly NO DOGS. So go prepared...to enjoy nature. There is an app available to download called Barossa Country Walks, which gives great details about walking trails in the Barossa region including Sandy Creek.

We camped on private property right alongside the Sandy Creek Conservation Park with our Cub Scouts. Both the kids and adults enjoyed the experience and all of the furry neighbours, kangaroos and koalas 🐨

The photo is of the southern entrance, easy to miss. Apart from grass trees and the odd wax lilly all the flowers are finished. I will have to revisit in spring. Still an easy and pleasant walk.

There is no facilities at this place & a small carpark & no dogs are allowed their..there is plenty of kangaroo's their with many Joey's this time of year..the place is not what U expect but does have some good walking trails..the place has possibly not changed since that piece of land was bought & entrusted to be left in its original state..it is amazingly sandy their once you leave the carpark but like most of the creeks that were stripped of their precious sand did they or even Sandy Creek ever have water in it?,I really don't know?maybe before the gold...

Easy grade walk though the sand can be a bit of a challenge, similar to walking along the beach. Perhaps the signage could be improved, a couple of times we were unsure as to where we were on the loop but was able to figure it out without too much trouble. Overall not a bad park through...
