Came here in September, approximately 6 months post firesS and in middle of covid19. They have slightly adjusted open hours and show times which are updated on their website. Despite lower tourism in recent months it was pleasing to see a good turnout of about 20 people. We opted for the 1130 raptor show (birds of prey) and then the 1pm snake show (two adults for both shows $74). The raptor show included a range of owls, falcons and eagles in addition to other birds of prey and the two two presenters Chantelle and Blake were very knowledgeable and great entertainers. If you were sitting in the front row, some of the birds early on could jump into your lap and if you were further back, you could join in and hold some of the birds. At the end of the show you could hold a wedge tailed eagle for an additional $10. Well worth the spend. The time between the shows is good to grab food and highly recommend ordering before the first show as the wait can be 20-30min for the one-man show at Kl tuckerbox. Chantelle took us for the snake/venomous animals show where she initially showed us the Sydney funnel web spider and educated us on spiders in general before showing us the two venomous snakes on the island and then proceeding to non-venomous pythons and lizards that we could all hold. Very lovely and educational experience. All round very happy with the day and well worth the spend for it. Recommend it on...

My partner and I just recently went here and booked the private bird show, which we absolutely loved! We had the opportunity to see 8 of their birds, which were all amazing and entertaining! We especially loved the laughing kookaburras, which we requested. Banjo and Clancy were so much fun to hold and interact with. They were so playful flitting between my partner and I while the keeper tried to keep their attention. We were absolutely in love with them. We also got to hold Nellie the wedge tail eagle, she was spectacular. And so gentle as the keeper gave her scratches. The handler was so amazing, she was beyond informative, and funny and clearly passionate about the birds, which was lovely to see. We were absolutely enthralled for the whole hour, which passed so quickly! We just recently moved to the island and we cant wait to go back with our friends and family to see the shows! Thank you for and...

What an amazing and unforgettable experience.

My partner and I booked a private experience to meet the birds. This experience let's you get up close and personal with the Birds by letting you hold them and have them on your lap whilst a bird keeper will talk to you about the Birds and answer any questions you may have whilst demonstrating many interesting quirks the Birds may have.

If you're an avid bird lover or have any interest in getting up close with the Birds then I would say it's worth every cent.

If you need recommendations for birds to see, then I would recommend picking a wide variety of birds. You'll be amazed at how large, heavy and intimidating Jedda the eagle is! I recommend also picking some smaller and medium sized birds such as the yellow tailed block cockatoos and various owl species.

If you're staying in Kangaroo Island you really shouldn't miss...

I highly recommend a visit to Raptor Domain if you are visiting Kangaroo Island. All shows were informative and educational with up close and personal contact with reptiles and birds as well as a scorpion and bird eating spider. All the staff were welcoming, friendly, patient and knowledgable. We took part in a private experience which was absolutely amazing, thanks to Blake for his time; sharing his knowledge and expertise. If you can afford it, do one yourself, you won't regret it! To all the negative people out there who say that the animals should be free and not in captivity. Raptor Domain rehabilitate and release any animals they can. The ones you see on show would not survive in the wild so their lifespan is considerably lengthened by having a home at Raptor Domain. Go and visit and see for yourselves the great job these people are doing before you make disparaging remarks.

Cute venue with lots of charm. The staff have always been accommodating, friendly and energetic, and I've attended both the Raptor and Reptile shows and must say, they do not disappoint! It's doubly worth the money since it's an animal sanctuary and you get the sense that it all goes towards a good cause. Both wildlife shows were incredibly informative, engaging, interactive, cozy, and re-instills a sense of gratitude and wonder for our fellow creatures! I would recommend as a great follow-up from a seal bay tour, friendly for kids and adults alike! They also sell basic coffee and sandwiches, which is good in a pinch. Worth mentioning since nearby venues (Little Sahara, Seal Bay) don't have much in the ways of food or coffee, and it saved us needless driving to be able to eat there.
