Went here on a Saturday early arvo with my wife, sister in law and our 3 young girls. Beautiful day so we grabbed a table outside on the lawn. Ducked inside to get a drink and found both hosts very welcoming of both us and our children. Friendly and happy to talk about the drinks, the food options for platters and life in general. We were in and out a few times as we tried different beers, wines and gin, all of which were to our liking. They happily put our food selection together and served it as a lovely platter, perfect light lunch for the occasion. Plenty of options to choose from for the platters, cheese selection was amazing! Kids happily played together on the lawn and around the yard, plenty of space for them to run around. Hide and seek ended up with one of the children behind the bar with the hostess playing along and not giving up my daughter’s hiding spot which she greatly appreciated! The take away drinks prices were very reasonable and we left with a couple of cartons of beer and a couple of cartons of their delicious red wine which they took out to our car for us. Looking forward to returning for another...
Read moreWow! This is little unexpected gem at the end of the road. A super chilled out location, with a couple of top blokes behind the cellar door. I haven't been to a more stress free location in the Clare Valley. A place to really enjoy with great friends or family with a variety of seating options to get comfortable. They have an excellent selection of Clare Valley Brewery beers & a wonderful selection of their own wines, white & red. This why it is so difficult to leave as you just have one great selection after another! Food is not a general option as it really only happens on the "Gourmet Weekend" when the whole Valley is in Sync. However, that is why you have Skillogallee just before it. Eat there, drink here! Magnificent combo. Highly recommended. Just have a designated driver....who isn't...
Read moreThis is a MUST VISIT Cellar Door. I was warmly greeted by a lovely lady, Dianne, in what only can be described as a 'serenful setting'. Surrounded by tall gums and a whisper of wind, you can sit, relax and take in the beauty around you, while sampling some of South Australia's best kept secrets. The 1st Vintage was in 1992, with the Cellar Door opening in 1994. In early 2018 the magic really happened with the opening of their upgraded Cellar Door and sampling area. There is Wheelchair access ♿ and parking, although you would need to park to the right and up the hill, to enter via the grass, as seen in the photos. There are also public amenities to the left of the Cellar Door. I highly recommend you visit the CVBC. You will not be...
