Lagoon Creek looks like someone painted “peaceful” and “wild” on the same canvas. It’s windy, sure—you’ll definitely notice it—but not the kind that throws sand in your face. More like nature reminding you who’s in charge.

The lake shimmers beautifully, surrounded by soft white sand and scattered shells that make every step sound cinematic. Kite surfers glide across the water, showing off while the rest of us just stare and nod like we understand wind physics.

It’s open, clean, and oddly calming. The wind gives it energy, not chaos. You walk away feeling refreshed, a bit windswept, and kind of impressed that a place this simple hits that hard.

There is little parking, toilet and couple BBQ sheds.

Rating: 4.5/5. Breezy, beautiful, and...

We stopped by after seeing it on the way to Monkey Mia. The lagoon is just outside Denham. We stopped at the parking area but it looked like you are able to head further into the beach with a 4WD. The lagoon has toilets as well as a shaded bench area. The beach surrounds the entire lagoon and it is so calm and beautiful. The water is so clear that you can see the patches of grass or rock under the surface. The water did have a chill to it but would be amazing during summer. The clear water and fine sand makes it quite relaxing. There are also sea creatures inside the lagoon which makes it even more interesting. We saw some hermit crabs while strolling along the shore. There are also rock fish in there so be...

Such a magical spot. It is huge and you can even 4WD to the water edge to spend a day there. The toilets were good and there was a great amount of parking for all, it does get quite busy near the main shelters/carpark but you can walk further away or drive to find your own spot on the beach if you have the appropriate car. The water is super clear and shallow near the edge, it gets deeper the more you go out for a good snorkel! You can even do a lovely walk around it on low tide.

There are also rock fish in there so be careful with those.
