I personally didn't think the walk was worth it. The rest of Shute harbour is just as lovely. The track is a 20-40 minute walk depending fitness. The track is rocks, coral, leaves and some roots. You MUST wear reliable shoes and it's also worth taking reef shoes as the beach itself is (as the name suggests) coral and rock. The coral and rock is extremely hot on the feet ( i do have sensitive feet so others might find it fine) and when you get to the water, the rocks become sharper and slipperier. I had walked down intending to swim and was unable to get past ankle deep as I didn't have shoes to wear in (my own fault, just hoping people learn from my mistakes) You MUST take water. The water is pretty as is the beach. The water is warm bath temperature. My take aways: 1Have good sturdy shoes (reef shoes ideal) and if wearing thongs take spares in case yours break Sunscreen and a hat!!!!! The path is dappled sunlight but strong (i have olive skin and got burnt) WATER WATER WATER. There's not a lot of shade on the beach As you get closer to the beach be careful to ensure you take the right track (especially when coming back) for someone not used to aussie beach tracks it would be easy to get lost on some of the offshoot paths There are no toilets at the car park at the top nor on the beach or track. Empty your bladder...
Read moreOkay. So I know it says it's an easy walk, but that is relative. The track itself is very uneven in parts. The walk to the beach is downhill but doable. The way back? My Fitbit measured the walk back up as 30 Floors. If you're not fit, you can do it, but it may be a lung buster. Just take your time. The beach is wonderful and worth it. The coral on the beach is spectacular. I'm not sure where else in Australia you will see this kind of beach. There are no amenities but if you can hold on, our could be worth spending a few hours down there.
Once you get to the next, had south to the trail for the lookout. I tried to get there but just couldn't do it (it's all uphill). I was satisfied with the beach. My photos don't...

Only a grade 2 trail and very reasonably walk (approx 4kms return), it goes through forest then to a beautiful coral beach, hence the name and then back into forest before taking you to a breathtaking little wooden lookout platform overlooking Shute Harbour and the surrounding islands 🌴
Add this one to your list if you visit and are looking for a nice easy hike
