If you are looking for your first ski experience, you can't go past Perisher Resort and Smiggins, the facilities are wicked, the instructors first class. Book yourself some lessons, you won't regret it, nice mix of slopes as you progress, just try and ignore the 3 year olds as they ski past you effortlessly, also check out the night skiing and fireworks if you are there on the right night. It's hard to find a holiday that ticks all the boxes as we have teenage kids and this smashed it out of the park, I've never seen our kids so tired but smiling from ear to ear !! Stayed at The Station, great value for money. Eat at The Man from Snowy River, great food and relaxed atmosphere. As we know we will go back, next time we will stay on the mountain as means we can just be there with no travel to think about.

Surprising good runs and facilities. Smiggins doesn’t have the big ticket black runs of Perisher but it does have a far more relaxed atmosphere! The runs are green and blue more suited to beginner and intermediate skiers, but in truth, my wife and I enjoyed being here today more than the hustle and bustle of Perisher. Lines for lifts and t-bars are short, runs aren’t huge but your never too fussed as you can just use the lifts etc to get back up the mountain in minutes! Somewhere I would definitely bring the kids. And if you get bored it’s two t-bars and a run back to Perisher!!!

This is place the best destination for families, newbies and intermediate skiers, The same location so it's easy to keep track of your group great facilities and food options is here. You can using quick bus ride to Perisher if you're up for something more challenging. Small place but we can try every thing we need. we will come back here! We have a new discovery for my children!

SHOUTOUT TO BLAIR THE INSTRUCTOR (promotion material)

Our group at the Ski School at Smiggins Hole really enjoyed our time there. Blair was a really good instructor, he helped us improve all of our skiing a lot over just two days. (He should get a pay rise/promotion). We kept falling down and unintentionally performing various acts such as skiing backwards with our bottom in the air and crashing into a big yellow thing and each other. Despite our unhinged stunts, Blair remained calm and collected at all given times and proceeded to help one up. We are surprised at the fact that he didn't abandon us as we were so bad. But by the end of two days, Blair had nurtured and honed our inner skiing skills and we had been transformed into elite skiers.

Furthermore, Blair displayed great humour and a fun, witty character while throwing snowballs at us (in a very fun way, not abuse) and making our skiing experience great fun.

Due to all that has been said above, Blair is clearly deserving of a pay rise and/or a promotion since he is obviously the best ski instructor at Smiggins Hole.

Thank you for a great few days at the slopes.

Cheers, Emily, Yasmin, Jemimah, Sienna, Zoe, Isabella, Hema and Doron. xoxo gossip girl

PS. sorry we couldn't find a red jacket guy last week so this is the improvised replacement, we do not mind about the hot choccy. It...

Extremely poor experience for beginners – Smiggin Holes Ski School should not advertise beginner lessons if they don’t support first-timers.

I booked a beginner group lesson at Smiggin Holes (Perisher), which included a mandatory lift pass. I received no instruction, no help, and the instructor didn’t take us to the lift. As a first-time skier, I was completely lost and left alone.

When I asked staff why we weren’t taken to the lift, they told me it was because I didn’t ask. That response is completely unacceptable — how is a beginner supposed to know what to ask for?

I couldn’t use the lift pass, didn’t receive a lesson, and was denied a refund. I didn’t even get a receipt, and all complaints were handled verbally with no accountability. Staff said they weren’t responsible for the instructor — shocking.

This felt like a scam. I paid a lot of money for nothing. If you’re a beginner, do NOT go to Smiggin Holes Ski School. They are absolutely not prepared to support...
