This was our first time at skypark cairns, an experience we would have hoped to be amazing as this was our first time trying something like this. We booked over a month in advance for this experience, we then got called from skypark the night before (less then 10 hours notice) that they had un planned maintenance and they had to cancel our booking for tomorrow. That was fine as we understand that these things happen and the staff had no control over the situation. The staff over the phone told us that our only two options were to - get a refund and cancel the booking - or - re book for another day (we had to cancel as we were flying back home before we could re book) so we had to choose to cancel. Then the next morning just after 9am the staff called us again and told us that the maintenance was finished and we could resume with our original time, the only issue was, the original transfer to go to the sky park was for 9:30am and as they called us less then 30 minutes before the transfer, we had to let them know we were going to be late and that we had to pay for an uber to get there instead and we also asked the staff over the phone if we could still get our original transfer back home as that was included in the original booking, they said of course and that our request was all good and they also confidently let us know that the transfer from the sky park back to our hotel would be ready at 11:30-12. After our experience at the park, we waited in the bar area as we knew we had to wait until at least 11:30 for our transfer, we went up to the service desk just to double check about the transfer and they said that it had already left and that there wasn’t another available bus today, mind you the time was about 10:50 (more then 30 mins before the transfer was about to leave) the staff didn’t give us any alternative for all the inconvenience that they have caused us. I then had to speak to a staff member to try to get this resolved and they ended up getting us an uber In replacement of the transfer but only after the staff not offering anything to help and after me personally speaking to a manager to let her know all the inconvenience that they have caused us. I completely understand that some unplanned things can happen and that staff can’t control these things, but what they can control is there organisation skills and customer conflict resolution skills to try to help paying guests out after there establishment has inconvenienced them. We were so excited to try something like this for the first time and after going to skypark cairns, this has really made this whole experience horrible. I really hope the staff and management can learn something from this...
Read moreI had my wedding at Skypark Cairns at the beginning of November, whilst the night was beautiful thanks to Claire from Claire Victoria Wedding Designs, I was very disappointed in Skypark. The bartenders for the evening - Bonnie and Dakota were phenomenal, both ladies had great spirit and all the guests made lovely comments on the ladies. The jumpers - Aaron and Angus, both men were hilarious and made myself and Jack feel alot more at ease. We wouldnt have picked different boys if we were to jump again! The venue itself was spectacular and Claire working so closely with Skypark knew how to make it shine, we couldnt have picked a better location.
Now, my experience with the management team has been less than satisfactory throughout my time from booking in January to the wedding in November. Jen the original event manager was great in her detail and securing us a spot, once she had left I was left without any food as Skypark had decided 16 weeks out they were no longer going to produce food for the event. Once this came to light, minimal communication was had and I was not provided a straight answer until Claire chased up for me. After this Charlie was my point of contact, Charlie was thorough in the beginning confirming details. On my rehersal the day before my wedding, Charlie approached me to pay more money to skypark advising our jump was not included (reneging on email correspondence stating it was involved). Charlie then continued to attempt to change key items on the day such as the location of the food vendor after it was already agreed upon. Stating "Well we had to pay for the vendor so you could meet us half way" when I was still required to pay half of the vendor. On the day of my wedding, Charlie tried to have the reception shut down protesting "severe damages have occurred in the male toilets", Claire and my father inspected the toilets and found a pot plant in the urinal, whilst that is not acceptable at a venue, it was no severe damages.
Charlie the Events Manager caused a lot of unnecessary stress leading up to and on the day of my wedding. I found her to try and manipulate me and my plans for the day and money hungry. I am very disappointed that this is my review as every other aspect of Skypark I dealt with...
Read moreEaster bungy booking and easter event!
Firstly in regards to the booking and customer service we received from the lady at the counter was absolutely appalling. We stood in line for 40 minutes just to get to the counter which was totally fine but our pre-booking that we did online had some miner alterations that were needed, consent forms werent fully done. This lady decided to keep serving rather than finalizing our booking which took my hubby 20seconds to complete so we waiting another 40minutes at the counter until I said something to this lady and then she directed us to re-line up again and also because of this we couldn't finalize our booking which resulted in missing our edited footage as well as the bungy which we wanted to do. It just seemed completely unorganized and totally understand it was a busy day but customer satisfaction should be prioity especially considering we had it prearranged and had already lined up nearly an hour. If I am honest the entire day was a shitshow. There wasn't an easter egg hunt at all, it was an egg throw out to kids resulting in a lot of kids missing out. There was also only 1 face painter and over 100 kids which we had to line up for more than hour for our 2year old child to get his face painted even though we pre purchased tickets for the event. I also noticed adults getting facepainted with no bans on this also resulted in children who had prepurchased tickets missing out. Do better next year considering you guys know it's one of the most...
