What a wonderful place to go to! The Spit at Lake Somerset is well-maintained, with clean toilets, plenty of picnic tables, and both electric and wood BBQ grills ready for your family cook-up. We loved how spacious the grassy areas were, perfect for relaxing or a casual game, with lots of wildlife around adding to the peaceful vibe.
Photography lovers will find great photo spots near the water, with mountain and lake views creating a stunning backdrop, especially during sunrise and sunset. There’s also a swimming area marked with a yellow rope where you can safely take a dip to cool off on hot days.
Plenty of parking is available, especially on weekdays, making it an easy day trip without hassle. Note that dogs aren’t allowed, so plan accordingly.
Highly recommend coming here for a relaxing picnic, barbecue, swim, or to just enjoy nature with friends and family. We had a fantastic day out and will definitely...

You can also see the other people business and it scary for people who are afraid of these kind of things. I couldn't so I hold my business for 4 hours. Also it...

The Spit can be very busy on the weekends (especially through summer) but is better on weekdays if you can get there then. It is a bit of a hike up to the toilet block but there is parking directly in front with dissability access. All types of boating activities allowed and also good for just a picnic and a swim. Only point for improvement would be to make the jet skiers obey the '6 knots within 60 metres of the shore' rule and a public pontoon would...
