Wow, what a special place! We planned for one night but hubby begged to stay one more. Glad we did. Not many places you can camp right on the beach itself! We managed to get a shade structure which was much needed since we didn't have an awning with us.

There are flush toilets nearby the shade structures as you come down on the sand. Grateful to have this and was soap and toilet paper available.

Beach was not that soft, drove on it fine. Hubby took tyres down to 20psi but he reckons it didn't need that. Waking up to the waves lapping was amazing.

The beach is gorgeous. Safe beach for kids to swim as have to walk ages before it gets any depth.

If you stay here you MUST pay the $10 per night into the honesty box... so lttle for...

Another positive review of this beach. Yes it is stunning, but please don't spoil it 🙂. Need to book camping at one of the 30 spots, which probably a good thing (beware though, we tried to book, said no availability but mid afternoon was only about 30% occupied). Also when we visited, sand got soft after about site 24 or 25, hadn't aired down so carefully turned back. Be careful with a big van. 2wd ok for the first 20 sites probably, but check conditions. Was very windy on one day we were there for a day visit so check the forecast if camping, might be a bit tough going for a full day...

A paid beach camping area with a flat dirt base or beach camping for those with 4WD. OK facilities...must be self-contained.

Time and Cost: Donation camp ($10 per night) no apparent time limit.

Access: Access off the Flinders Highway with a short dirt road down to beach.

Facilities: Flat dirt/beach parking, toilet block but no water or bins.

Ambiance: Very quiet, can get windy. Wooden cabanas offer shade on beach.

A very pleasant and quiet beachside camping location with beautiful sunsets. Moderate mobile reception but no TV. Excellent walks along the beach...

Lovely long stretch of white beach. Sites 1 - 20 are for tourists and we think sites 20 - 30 are for locals. Each site fits a very big van and 4WD with room to spare so you are not on top of your neighbours. Sand is deeper from Site 15 onwards so have a shovel and sand racks. Toilets are clean and rustic. Beautiful sunsets and the tides make for a shallow beach safe for children.
