Outstanding Experience at Barley Stacks Wines!

From the moment I arrived at Barley Stacks Wines, I knew I was in for something special. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a beautiful, wholesome feel that makes you want to settle in and stay a while.

I had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious gluten-free pizza while chatting with Matty, whose passion and knowledge truly enhanced the experience. The staff here are exceptional—welcoming, friendly, and more than happy to share their expertise.

The real highlight, of course, was the wine. I walked away with two bottles, absolutely blown away by the quality and depth of flavor in every sip. Each drop is a testament to the care and craftsmanship that goes into their winemaking.

What makes Barley Stacks even better? It’s pet-friendly! Being able to bring my furry companion along made the visit even more enjoyable.

What an extra special afternoon we spent here. Welcomed warmly by the owner Lyle who proceeded to show our children their own special corner complete with a myriad of toys and entertainment and ply them with juice boxes. They were thrilled and entertained which allowed my husband and I to enjoy our wine journey (they don’t do ‘tastings’ here only journeys). We stayed for well over an hour enjoying the wine, the homemade pizza and the genuine passion and knowledge of the owner. He even finished our afternoon introducing us to local SA ice creams dipped in liquor. These guys know hospitality!! My wife and I had an excellent tasting experience at Barley Stacks. Led by the enthusiastic and knowledgeable Carley, we worked our way through the complete range of wines and fortifieds. To top it off, we also did a gin and vodka tasting of the Sunny Hill Distillery products. The Distillery is closed for much of the week so it was great to have an opportunity to taste their products at Barley Stacks. The wines are mostly good quality with reasonable prices - while there was nothing outstanding, we most liked the white and rose sparkling wines and the bigger reds, shiraz and cab sav.
