Went there yesterday (18th January). We're from Hobart. 1.5-ish hrs drive away.
Thanks to the hospitality of the nature but not to the hospitality of the staff.
We were excited and a little bit exhausted at the same time.
We bought air glide tickets at around 11AM. Told that air glide staff has to have a bit of a break for ~1 hour.
While waiting, we decided to eat in the cafe and to have some rest as well. We then ordered our meals. We noticed that the three lady staff around that time were unhappy serving us. However, they were just chit-chatting during their idle minutes. One of them sounded annoyed when one of us asked for aoli dip. Also, before we left for an airwalk, I decided to have take away chips. Unfortunately, I forgot to tell them that it was for take away - one of them then turned her back and I saw her eyes smirked at us.
They weren't wearing ID badge.
We just found it rude. They've been that way since the moment we entered the cafe. We just found it not so hospitable.
Anyway... We finally got back from our airwalk probably around 3PM. The lady staff told my friend that air glide was closed due to bad weather so she had to refund the tickets.
It wasn't windy. Weather was actually quite fair.
So another friend of mine went to confirm. He was told that the staff has already had enough air glides done for the day.
Two different reasons within 2-3 minutes timeframe. Inconsistent.
Weather was fair. They're still open and must have continued to operate.
It was NOT that I/we feel insensitive for the staff well-being at work. But I think they should be able to anticipate when to stop selling tickets when the daily quota is met so that each and every one will be served accordingly.
We just felt we were treated unfairly. We bought tickets at 11AM. We certainly are on the queue. Staff needed break, so we did the walk first before air gliding. Only to find out that gliding was cancelled and we needed to go back home without experiencing it. Not to mention the overall staff attitude.
Such an unfortunate experience for us that our planned trip was not quite worth it.
Management and human hospitality NOT at its finest.
Thank goodness we've got the NATURE'S beauty to calm us down as we took the walk.
Still made our trip SOMEWHAT worth it. Could have been the best.
Lesson for all of...

I experienced an adventurous winding road on the way to Tahune for 1.5 hr(one way) from Hobart, not at Tahune. I mean, the air walk was not impressive as it's just a 'walk' from the fair height. What I could see was all burnt giant trees from the 2019 fire. Also if I want to have a quick look, it could be done within 30 mins.
There are two swing bridges and one of the bridge is currently closed (please see the website for updates). Because of that reason, we have received a 10% entry discount. The swing bridge was also not something I'd call 'Adventure'.
There were many elderly visitors while I was there. So then we thought 🤔 this place is adventurous for the elders and Children?
I was advised by the person selling the ticket that the Eagle glider is available only till 2 to 2.30 and the staff needs a lunch break as well. So, if I really want to do the gliding, better to do it before all walks as the staff is available now. So the staff kindly advised me to purchase a ticket just before I go gliding.
While I was walking around Tahune walking trails, from the far, I could see what Eagle glider would be like... Meh, I decided not to do that for $22. Again, it was not looking ADVENTUROUS enough for me.
I am from Sydney, looking for nature while visiting Tasmania. And I heard from the local friends that Tahune could be a 'fun' place to go with nature!
What I can tell you is, the size of this Tahune is smaller than Lane Cove National park(entry fee $8 per car). A short 20 mins walking trail at Tahune was like... Somewhere you can experience it in Black heath Grand Canyon walks in Syd.
Facility was nicely maintained and well designed. The cafe was available but not many options. Lucky that I brought some snacks with me.
Overall, it's not worth it to come again. It's for... A tourist like me who never came here before. Next time when I visit Tas, I will spend my time and money...

Be prepared for a long drive in, and if you think you are lost, you're not. It's worth once you get there.
Wife did the Hang-glider experience and said she enjoyed it, although was all over very quickly. She'd have liked to have a little longer at the top to look around before descending back down to the ground.
A very beautiful setting with cafe, gift shop and open fire.
The 104 steps up to the airwalk almost killed me (big fella) but eventually made it to the start of the air walk. I wished I'd known that you can actually drive up, avoiding the steps! The Airwalk itself very safe and secure with absolutely lovely surrounding scenery as you are actually up in the trees. Some slightly elevated walking but if it wasn't for the 104 steps earlier :-( these would be a breeze. Great views out over the river, and the very end of the Airwalk where you walk out to the cantilever is amazing.
From there we walked the Swinging Bridges walk, and glad that we went from the end of the airwalk anti-clockwise back around to the Visitors Centre as (for a big fella) it was mainly climbing down a very rugged track that had a mix of steps and rocks. The Swinging Bridges themselves were great, and you can get a 'swing up' without much effort so up to you as to how you wish to walk it. Otherwise extremely sturdy and safe.
Once over the bridges the walk back is somewhat smooth and flat with little to no elevation.
There were other walks but it started to rain rather heavily so we decided we'd seen enough and head back to Hobart. But not without stopping at Bakery at the Huonvalley...
