Our experience was cancelled due to strong winds, so we decided to just purchase some oysters for the road. Boy were we in for a treat when we met Steve! Not only can he shuck oysters fast, he provides one damn good hospitality too. We ended up savouring our oysters over a little setup Steve made us at the farmgate; he even gave us a nice drink as a palette cleanser. We didn't get the experience we planned, but we got an even more unique experience and made a friend. Guys - if you haven't been here, please go. You'd be blown away (not by the wind), but by the freshness of the oysters and the niceness of the family who runs this business. Thank you Steve, we'll be back!

WOW, What an experience- totally recommend this on the Yorke Peninsula, Stansbury. Deckie for the Day with Steve was an incredible personal experience, very hands on, knowledgeable, tasted lots of oysters and even learnt how to shuck oysters. Steve made sure we had lots of photos to remember the experience as I was on my own. The day was perfect and even saw dolphins. Very much worth it. Thanks Steve for allowing me to be part of your day, awesome 😀

This is an excellent experience and great value. Steve is very personable and friendly as well as knowledgeable and happy to share so much information about Oysters. The experience is very hands on with the options to shuck and taste many different types of Oysters - all delicious. Everything is provided for during the experience. A very fun outing. The photos from the other reviews capture the range of experiences you can have.

The best oyster farm tour we have experienced so far. Booked it with the great state voucher and never regretted it. Pacific Estate Oyster Farm Tour is run by husband and wife Steve and Gerri and they are the best. We met at Stansbury boat ramp at 9:45 sharp (tide timings were considered) and donned our waders that they have provided. Gerri also gave us some warm jackets as it was 9 degrees at the sea at that time. Dry towels were also given - all clean and sanitised. Steve was informative and gave us a good insight on oyster farming and the challenges they face. He also let us get off the boat to try a hands-on experience. We lost count of the oysters that we had as Steve kept on shucking them as we went along. They treated us like old friends and showed genuine concern for our safety. This tour is way better than what we had in our Coffin Bay experience in Port Lincoln. Gerri also went above and beyond by letting us enjoy ourselves and not to worry about taking photos as she took them for us and sent via text. I think this tour is underrated and words needs to get out about this amazing tour. Highly recommended and will definitely be back with our friends.

Btw, they gave us a dozen oysters each to take home all complete...

"Deckie for a Day" was by far the best part of Adelaide (although it isn't quite in Adelaide). Gerri and Steve were both so informative, hilarious and had such great hospitality I felt like they were family friends after. Such a once in a lifetime experience (that I would do many times in a lifetime if I could) learning how the tides, the waters and everything under the sun affects the oysters, how to replace a post, how to shuck an oyster and comparing the flavours of a native to a pacific. The oysters are the freshest you'll ever taste.

An absolute must do, worth every single penny and get down into the waders, wear your socks and get into action. You don't have to go all the way to Kangaroo Islands - it's only 2.5 hours away from Adelaide with the best pub food after and beautiful beaches to explore after.

If we come back, we will be back without a doubt. We also...

A great, enjoyable, fun, safe, educational and memorable deckie for a day experience with two very welcoming, friendly and informative owner/guides. Safety and comfort was at the forefront of their concerns with new clean uniform and a safety briefing at the start. No pressure to do anything, high water level initially so watched on the boat as Steve did all the work.

Did deckie for a day to learn about oyster farming and of course taste oysters fresh from the sea and what an experience that was. Couldnt have been any more happier with two well informative owner/guides who were very happy to share their oyster farming passion with you. And of course indulging in freshly shucked oysters, getting the opportunity to taste different ones from location to size. Definetly well worth the 2 hour trip...
