We arrived at the wolf creek crater and hiked all round it. Lovely spot. We stayed for about 3 hours. I noticed when we got back to the car our watches had stopped and the car wouldn’t start. So we had no choice but to sleep until help arrived. Then after a couple hours later we noticed a blue truck driving our way. A nice man (real Aussie character) named mick helped us out! He couldn’t fix our car there and then because he didn’t have the tools to fix the coil in our car. So mick was kind enough to to tow us back to his camp and he said he’d fix it for free! 3 hours later we arrived at Micks camp and he gave us some fresh water to drink (He said was rain water from the top end). Anyways cut a long story short not long after that we all fell asleep while Mick went off to fix our car. 3 weeks later I’m still waiting...

The crater is huge. Pretty incredible to see in person. A must see after the movies and just mind blowing that something fell out of the sky to cause it. you can actually find rocks from the meteorite scattered around the site. It is obvious which are parts from the meteorite as they are quite clearly melted in parts. The camp site is also nice with plenty of room and some decent toilets. Only criticism of the place is only really how shockingly corrugated the road is on the way in. To be expected though! All part of...

ran into an old man called Mick, he had a blue car and some red liquid dripping off it. So I questioned him about and he said he skinned some pigs, so I went around the back to check it out and saw a bit of a blue uniform hanging off body which was hanging off the hook. really freaked me out a bit but i left Mick too it because when he wasnt looking i slashed his tire with my knife in my hand as ive seen this too many times and i know the ending aka i die. Anyway, i left him too it and hope to never see...

Very underwhelming for the terrible drive. It took 3hrs to drive 135km. Even in a 4WD this was a tedious and vehicle destroying road to drive. The corrugations on this dirt road are 100mm deep. Road from Halls Creek is currently being sealed 60km to Wolfe Creek. However, the other 75km of dirt road is appalling. Travel at your own risk. NOT recommended for dual axle caravans. NOT recommended for non-4WD vehicles.

Nice to tick off the list whilst travelling through. Road is slowly being bitchumised with road works being carried out, the track they've made to bypass road works is good, the 30km of tanami road is great, after the roadworks the road is corrigations for a while, pretty rough but manageable if you lower tyre pressures and stick to a good pace. The camping area at the crator fills up in June-july by 4pm
