Cat Bay is a popular beach on Phillip Island perfect for a seaside walk. Is it swimmable? Well it has reefs and submerged rocks. Swells and waves. The inevitable rips and the beach is not patrolled. So if you do have a go it will have a considerable risk. A walk to the old pier is a must. You will no doubt encounter sea birds perched on the old timber and if you look close enough on the sand you will see penguin tracks leading into the ocean for their daily missions. A delightful spot on the Island.

The old jetty ruins are a must to shoot when at Phillip island. Just need to be mindful of you park inside the park that they close the gates at dusk and you could get locked in. I would suggest parking outside the gates and walk down the road or beach. It's a great spot to do astro photography too.

Beautiful spot for photos at sunset. Easy walk to the beach. We even sorted some penguins under the stairs. You need to leave the car park before 8pm as they shut the road off from traffic to protect the penguins as the migrate up all of these...
