Mapleton Falls is a breathtakingly beautiful destination that offers visitors a stunning view of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The falls are situated in Mapleton National Park, which is located in the beautiful hinterland region of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. This natural wonder is truly a must-see for anyone visiting the region.
The falls themselves are quite impressive, with water cascading down a series of rocky cliffs and into a deep pool below. The viewing platform offers visitors an excellent vantage point from which to take in the stunning scenery. The sound of the water rushing down the falls and the fresh, crisp air make for a truly peaceful and serene experience.
In addition to the falls, the surrounding forest is also a sight to behold. The lush greenery and towering trees create a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. Visitors can take a walk along one of the many trails that wind through the park, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the forest.
Overall, Mapleton Falls is a truly beautiful destination that offers visitors a chance to experience the natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Whether you're looking for a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, or just want to take in some stunning scenery, this is definitely a spot worth visiting. Highly...
Read moreBeautiful view from the Falls Lookout, despite the lack of water falling. The walks are less time consuming than listed on the board, so if you want a longer walk than the Wompoo circuit without committing to a one way walk to Flaxton, you can follow the signs for Great Walk half way around. This takes you to Delicia Road (M4 entrance). From here there's another circuit (Linda Garrett) which is approx 2.5km. At one point the path is a little over grown but its only for about 50m. At the next junction the directions for Linda Garret Circuit aren't listed, take the right turn for Great Walks where there is an arrow to the left for car park. See my photos for landmarks along the route. The last third of the Linda Garret Circuit is along a wider track for vehicle access, although I did see a couple of unmarked paths which may have been a nicer option. The majority of the walk was well shaded from the sun despite it being quite a hot day (for a Brit). It was a relatively easy walk with only 3...
Read moreView of the waterfall itself is limited from the main lookout next to the carpark, however the view looking towards Obi Obi is stunning and there is more than one lookout to walk to. The park has a loop track as-well as an extended several kilometre walk for those that are feeling a bit more adventurous. The track is well maintained and reasonably flat throughout. It started to rain when I was walking, but due to the thick rainforest canopy above, It hardly mattered as It provided protection for most sections of the trail. Plus it was nice to listen to the rain. Some very big gum trees and fig trees to be seen in this park. I managed to pick up a leech on my leg before the end of the hike but it was nothing to be concerned about though. Parking was limited with approximately 10 spots that were mostly taken when I’d gotten there around 2pm on...
