The perfect camping weekend away. You will need a permit to access the camping and beach area from the parks and wildlife authority in Queensland and camping bookings are a must as it can get quite busy. The camping sites area over the back of the dunes so the is no beach views but it makes a well sheltered camp.

Serenity on earth, what a magical, peaceful, soul-searching and beautiful place. Just don’t leave your fridge on the ground-one of the wild pigs got into ours and had a feast on some fine salmon and rib filet steaks, eggs, bacon and even busted one of my rare breed wild turkey cans.

My photos are at campsite #52 with close access to the amenities and the beach 🏖 just out first camping trip so a quick 2 days was fantastic. Nice large sites photos only show half. Ice and battery power a must 👍🏻

Came to bribie for a 1 night trip with 3 friends. We’d booked in advance and our 4th member was a last second addition. Considering the capacity of our site was for 6 we didn’t think anything of it. Leaving early in the morning, with our site completely spotless and looked after, we were stopped by rangers when by the old army forts. The rangers asked us which campsite we had booked and they informed us that we had only booked for 3 people. We were apologetic and expected to have a reasonable conversation, only to be interrogated on the Rangers body cam as if we’d committed some horrible crime and given a $150 fine. We only later found out that to add the 4th camper it was $7. Pretty sad how the people who are actually respectful of the campgrounds get treated like this. Will not...

If you can get the weather right, and avoid a howling onshore breeze (i.e. any afternoon between October and March) this is one of the most tranquil, beautiful camping spots anywhere in the world. Bonus points if you can leave Brisbane early on a Friday, avoid the traffic and have an easy low tide run up the beach before dark. Boss level: book one of the solo sites mid week and mid winter, and you might as well be in Broome you'll feel that far away...

Absolutely disappointed in the ranger mannerism here. We are from the Gold Coast so when we seen sign 12 we thought that was our camp area, countless people came past even the police in the evening and said nothing. The ranger gave us no warning and issued us with a $400 infringement instead of letting us know that the camp site is further up. No warning or anything. 10/10 would not recommend...
