Terrible gym! I purchased the 30 day pass for $30. This gave me access to both the bernie mullane waves and bernie mullane spoarts complex in kellyville.
I have never been to gyms that are so dysfunctional and lack motivational environments. Upon.signing up I was not given a tour of the facilities or explained how things work. I was told to fill out forms and have a good work out.
The bernie mullane sports complex has no room for classes which are often held outside, between the gym and outside and in the gymnasium. All rooms give no sense of motivation, the gymnasium looks as though it is falling down! The gym equipment looks older than me (24) and there was a rat poison box chilling next to the step machine.
Instructors were unaware that I was new to the classes (unlikely as it is the same 10 women that have been attending for the past 10 years!) Warm ups are "go and warm up" and cool downs are optional and not led by instructors. Instructors lack motivation to motivate you and during one class I was generally bored! I was given a sheet of paper to read the moves of and to get on with it. The music playing was extremely quiet and had no motivational qualities to it at all.
Children are allowed to chill in the class with you but this issue seems to have been resolved now. Nothing against children, but I am the last person that wants to drop weights on their hands! It's just not safe. Issue has been resolved though.
Waves and aquatics at baulkham hills...This facility has no lockers so you have to carry your valuables around the gym with you. Big swimming pool which is a bonus but super dated changing facilities.
Gym equipment is not only dated but very broken, with handles to adjust settings being sharp and jagged. I understand things break but at least make it usable! Foam paddings were broken with foam falling out of the seams. Handles lacked soft grip pieces so actually hurt your hands upon using them.
Music was played from a portable radio at a very low level. Training on the cross trainer in front of the radio I was unable to hear the music. There was a sign informing that if we wished to listen to loud music we needed headphones. But I just wanted to listen to any music! Apparently thats not allowed either.
Conclusion...Don't waste your money or time visiting these complexes! Pay the extra and go to a better place where you can train in a safe and fun...
Read moreThis sports centre is fabulous as there is almost always a ice cream truck outside near the soccer fields where people are playing at. The indoor basketball courts are very gripping and the hoops are very high. They also have a water refuel station where you can refuel and drink some water. There is also a count to how many bottles are saved (on the fun side). The toilets are mostly clean with sometimes being a bit dirty. I also visit there approximately every 2 weeks to play local competition for basketball. There is also a miniature cafe where you can buy drinks from it and pay at the reception desk. The thing that is bad is that they have stated that they have been building a brand new cafe at the entrance but when i peeked inside (door was open) there where just plastic wrapping and some drinks like Coke and Fanta. I understand though that this project will probably take a while. I would definitely put it as a 4.8 but unfortunately I cannot do that so I am just putting 4 stars. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO...
Read moreA large complex to cater for multiple sports. This review is specifically regarding the tennis courts. The court conditions are decent. What is annoying is the courts are in a row of three - the doors are locked on all but one which is pin coded. To get to the other courts, you need to walk through other people's games. What was even more annoying are the lights. When I was there, the far row lights (on all three courts) didn't turn on, meaning one side of the court was dark. if not for the lights, it would get a...
