6 reasons to visit Kamay Botany National Park: It has great walks and views and access to the beach is easy, There is also a light-house that you can walk to as well as the famous Cape Solander (sometimes during the year, you can spot whales, but check with the Office when the whale spotting season is). Friendly service in the visitors centre; Whenever I visit, i find the attendants well informed and knowledgeable in regards to the stories, the history of the first nation peoples (Aboriginal culture) and there is a film you can watch which highlights the impact of colonial forces upon the Tradtional owners of Australia. Park facilities; the park has parking (which are paid for at the visitors centre), there are bbq facilities at the park further on from the centre, there are also toilets at the park and also at the centre (however, there are no toilets at the lighthouse or cape solander, so be prepared and go while you are at the centre). Cleanliness; I found the park to be quite clean, however, I do think that the park toilets need a good clean, and perhaps a lick of paint to freshen up the buildings, the appearance and the overall re-modification of the facilities. I find it amazing that the Liberal Government/via Berejeklin Government of NSW have approved funding of 50million for the captain cook statue, yet, they are not going to invest in the buildings which is an icon and a tourist attraction also? Would be better to spend the money on re-vamping the whole park rather than another obelisk dedicated to aboriginal oppression..... just sayin..... Point of difference; I like the walkway dedicated to the first peoples story telling, the piped music and voices of the aboriginal elders playing while you walk through the bush walks are really good. The tracks are all clearly marked, and there is always parking. Great family place, to get out and about and learn about Australia's sordid past, and see her...

I have admitt my friend and I were confused and couldn't work out were any thing was ,we got tired hungry and needed to use the restrooms ๐ป so we gave up. We saw the Westpac life savers rescue helicopter ๐ hanger. We also saw some kind of old lookout thing next to some other concrete objects!!! We couldn't see the anything but bushland, so i don't know if in fact this was a lookout or the bushland grow blocking out the views ๐ค we took one track the one next to the Westpac life savers helicopter ๐ hanger which lead to the cliff edge. There was strong winds and we didn't feel safe getting to close. We couldn't see much. A friend told me the day before that he saw whales and dolphins ๐ฌ. We ended up checking out congwong beach โฑ๏ธ which is part of kamay Botany Bay National Park. Beautiful little beach. This park is not far from Bare Island and Frenchmans beach. Just above congwong beach is la perouse snake ๐ show also known as snake man of la perouse. I remember coming and watching the snake ๐ as a young child with my family. I think the snake man does his show Sunday's 1.40pm and public holidays. Check la perouse snake show site for...

The entrance fee for a day is $8 per vehicle. Please note that the parking area at the end of the park near the cliffs and whale watching platform is not accessible due to major road repairs. (October 2022)You will have to walk from the midway point.
You can easily spend the whole day here. The walking trails are easy to moderate in most parts.Bring along suitable walking shoes if you're planning to have a hike. If you're just sightseeing, then you're advised to stay near the parking areas and on the paved pathways in the picnic areas .During busy periods like public holidays or weekends during whale watching season, there can be ice cream trucks or coffe vans in the parking areas; otherwise, you're would be advised to bring your own food and water.
