Lovely place nicely done up flowers are beautiful, walking trails, water sports, even features on tv shows, cooking , popular tv shows from the late 90's even the SES use it for the occasional training activity- the native flowers are protected so no touchy. You will need sensible shoes and tick protection when hiking through the bush.

There are two lovely picnic areas- has a larger car park, but both areas require paid tickets, on windscreen.

Parking is very pricey, so factor it in, so why the one star saw a staff member approach a car, and very rudely told them dogs weren't welcome here. The dog was sitting in the car- looking out the window, it wasn't like he was walking- talking selfies etc.

I hate rudeness on all levels. Will be boycotting this place cos of this rudeness, went to check on the driver, passenger who were very shaken I'm sorry the staff member should be fired for...

Manly Dam Walk is an absolute must-visit for nature lovers, hikers, and anyone looking to escape the city hustle! This scenic trail offers a perfect mix of bushland, water views, and peaceful surroundings, making it a five-star experience all around.

The diverse landscapes along the walk—from towering eucalyptus trees to the sparkling waters of the dam—make every step visually stunning. Wildlife is abundant, with birds chirping and the occasional sighting of native animals, adding to the immersive atmosphere. The trail itself is well-maintained, with easy-to-follow paths suitable for all fitness levels.

Whether you're after a relaxing stroll, a refreshing swim, or a scenic picnic, Manly Dam delivers on all fronts. It’s a hidden treasure that feels like a world away, yet it is just a short drive from the city. It's a perfect spot for a weekend...

It's a marvellous place... great view, splendid shades next to calm waters where you can swim, enjoy your kayak or simply inflatable doughnut! Kids can easily swim as the water is not deep on the sides close to where picnic benches are, just watch out as I'm not sure where is getting deep. Like all other parks has electric BBQs, a nice playground, proper toilets and lots of birds which you have to hide your food from. I would give 5 star if camping was permited and especially if the parking spaces were not expensive. Expensive is relative of course ($10 for an hour). I also saw people with fishing equipment but as long as I'm not a fan can't tell you how good is the place for that. One more good thing to mention is that in hot weather conditions, this place has lots of shade and due the water and the circulation of the air, you feel...

A swell park! Came here to run the Sydney Trail Series 12k and it was a great way to explore the trails. When you’re on the trails you can quite easily forget you’re in the middle of the city. Parking was scarce so I’m glad I had taken an Uber to get here. The single track trails are fun, and there was about 200 meter of elevation gain while circumnavigating the dam. The park is super dog-friendly, and I even passed by a little beach of fluffers splashing in the water. Really cheered me up! If you can get here as the sun is rising, you’ll be greeted by a beautiful sunrise reflecting on the still water with only the light waves left in the wake of the black swan swimming across the still water.

TIP: If you arrive after 2pm, go anticlockwise and cross over the dam itself first otherwise you could be walking around by torchlight! That's what happened to us. We wanted a family walk around the lake but travelled clockwise. We arrived to the dam crossing after 5.30pm and the gates had shut. It was already pretty dark at that stage (not daylight savings time). We backtracked and went another way to where the car was parked. Completely dark, we had to use the light from our phones to navigate the terrain. A bit of an adventure. Kids thought it was exciting but where quite tired so were keen to get the car and didn't appreciate the extra walk required.
