Stonecutters is a popular venue for golfing, weddings, corporate and social events such as appointments, meetings and gatherings; by booking as appropriate. Visible on social media and the web. G8 place to meet friends. Food was so good all I got to photograph was the crumbs. Then I had to go back for seconds. Novice and expert photographers, will find it difficult to refrain from taking too many photos of this venue's breathtaking views. I've been enjoying social meetings where I introduce new friends to this world class club house. Stonecutters offer high tea and is a great place to host functions. The clubhouse includes several areas including a children's playground. All aspects run smoothly for both novice and seasoned golfers. The club welcomes visitors to Tuesday competition days. Stonecutters is popular not only because of design and modern facilities but friendly culture. Friendly culture of Stonecutters is the result of good management, happy staff and members. Large 18 hole golf course available for patrons. As you would expect golf buggies are ready and available for use. I'm not surprised that Australia's Shark, Mr Greg Norman designed this world class facility. Stonecutters welcomes...
Read moreDisappointing and inconsistent experience. Some aspects were good (pizza, kid friendly), others were exceedingly poor (service from front of house staff, beverage quality).
None of our drinks had adequate post-mix; staff member making Mojitos had to look up ingredients and bumble through the process - weak pours, no post-mix, essentially soda water with a twist of lime. Similar experience for those of us who ordered lemon lime and bitters - heavy on bitters, light on lime, hardly any post-mix.
The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming, so it was quite jarring to be served by front of house staff who clearly didn't want to be there.
Food was ok, our party of 16 largely had reasonable meals, the pizzas were good. Anything schnitzel based was poor.
Male toilets were quite dirty and smelly.
Otherwise a nice looking venue that is kid friendly. Very mixed standard of service and quality of overall experience. As out-of-towners visiting for a 40th birthday this was a...
Read moreI have played a lot of golf courses and would not rate this as the best by far. Greg Norman design, well, I have played better. Firstly, they charge you $100 with cart, which is way over priced. You can play The Coast for a lot less. Riverside Oaks is cheaper than Stonecutters. Charging this amount of money for a course in Dean Park is paramount to stealing, really guys, are you serious? The use of River Sand in the bunkers is an absolute joke and I am quite certain that this was not the original type of sand they used when the course first opened. Going on the cheap eh. I thought I would give this course another chance as I have heard from quite a few disgruntled members and social players but yes, they are correct! With the money they charge you for a cart, maybe utilize these funds and water your fairways and try to have the greens playing at similar speeds and not all over the place. For the avid golfer there, head to Lynwood Country Club, Eamon, Darren and the team will take...
