Re: Outstanding product “ NORMAN SMART DRAPES “ and Exceptional craftsmanship and professionalism on a complex Smart Drapes Installation

In the 2nd week of October 2025, we requested an on-site meeting with Jarad Pressler ( Timbershades Blind & Shutter Solution Centres ) for a free quotation on 3 different types of window treatment for our main large windows at the living room. Prices quoted are reasonable, but not competitive if compared with other strictly online operators that do not provide site visits / reviewing actual material samples.

The reputation of a company, Quality, Reliability, Design of the products and on-site measurement / Installation by an experienced technician are important to us, and face-to-face consultation is a must as a start.

Despite a big costs difference comparing with conventional drapes, we commissioned TIMBERSHADES for the full supply and installation of the White Semi-Sheer SMART Drapes ( NORMAN BLINDS ) for our windows measuring 6 meters x 3.3 meters high.

The design and material, operating system, and flexibility of these SMART drapes is unique on its own, and requires delivery from overseas ( by flight - special order on our request ).

Damien ( Chief technician ) conducted site measurement prior to the placement of ordering the material. He took great attention to his measurement in every detail, and particularly the joining position of exactly where the two drapes panels closed.

Without disappointment, the drapes arrived to Sydney timely without delay.

06 November was the date of installation. Our experience with Damien and his assistant Joshua was assigned with the responsibility on a full installation of this custom drape system.

He and Joshua arrived precisely on time and were courteous and respectful of our home, immediately laid down the necessary protective floor coverings prior to commencement of the installation.

This was not a standard curtain track and drapes / blinds installation. The track operating system of the SMART drapes combined with sophisticated hardware. This complex and a valuable installation requires a high degree of precision, meticulous attention to detail, patience and care of an experienced technician that demonstrates a clear understanding of the product's value and complexity. The installation / multi-adjustment of the components itself was time consuming and complex. Damien worked diligently and efficiently to ensure all components were aligned perfectly on each part inside the track.

His professionalism was evident from the start at an on-site measurement to installation and final completion.

He is a true "man of his word," dedicated to ensuring complete customer satisfaction.

In an era where true craftsmanship can be hard to find, Damien’s work ethic, skill, and attention to detail are a refreshing exception - he treated the installation with the precision of a craftsman / engineer, ensuring every individual blind was perfectly aligned and calibrated.

For information, this selected NORMAN BLINDS-SMART drapes are approximately 2 times more in cost than of a set of conventional S-Wave Sheer polyester curtains. But, our investment on this product justified its value.

Timbershades team have been a marvel ! The project involved the replacement of external balcony louvre panels and doors for 6 town houses in Glebe, being a complex task requiring high quality technical advice throughout the process. Jared, the installation team and back office were incredibly professional at all stages of quoting, through design, installation and follow up. Timbershades are a wonderful company who stand by their product quality and provide first class service. I have used them for quite a few years on several properties and having had them recently completely dress all window furnishings in our home in Sydney with plantation shutters, venetians and motorised blinds, the end result is just outstanding...a complete transformation.
