Treetop Adventure Review It was a blast, you have to go. Period. Lol, but to elaborate :D 🌲We tried the Treetop Adventures at Castlehill, and it was just the perfect mix of aerial obstacles and ziplines (our friends had gone to other locations, and they agreed this was a good one for beginners) 🌲$59/adult for a 2.5hr session. Check family rates. 🌲120kg weight limit. 🌲There are 4 courses for kids (Ages 3-7) and 4 courses for adults (Ages +8). We did the Beginners(Green), Intermediate(Blue), Advanced(Red) but didn't have time for Expert (Black). Green took a while, you need to learn to trust your gear, figure out how the equipment works and mentally pump yourself before attempting new obstacles. The blue we breezed through. Red was major adrenaline pumping in some bits, especially because you were on the pine trees, 20m off the ground! This course also broke off into an easy and hard version. We took the easy one. 🌲A few obstacles down I felt my vertigo get triggered with all the wobbling ropes and planks you had to cross. Not embarrassed to say I ziplined or pulley'd my way through 70% of the course! Lol whatever works. 🌲 Leave all valuables in the car. No jewellery, watches. Phones only if it's in a neck strap. Wear enclosed shoes with good sole grip. Boots do impact mobility but were great when doing tension rope wires. Just take your water bottle with you. There are open pigeon holes near the tracks where you can keep your stuff. Valuables (car keys) you might want to give to staff to keep. They do sell water, socks, phone cases, etc 🌲Prefill your waiver before going. Reach location about 30mins before hand, check in, get your end time written on your arm. Toilet run if you need to. Goto the tree top start where they fit you into harness, helmet and provide gloves. You get your equipment and safety training and get to test it all before hitting the course. They start you off with beginners, you can see how many you want to do in the time frame you have. 🌲Schedule activity early morning during spring/fall months. Weather has a huge impact on your experience. Enjoy!

We had a bit of disappointment with the safety and staffing at this place. We had been with 3 kids (1 kid for the junior course and 2 kids aged 12 yrs) on a weekday (Friday). There were quite a few kids and adults for the adults tree top adventure. However, there was only 1 staff/instructor on site for the kids cum adults area. One of our boy was stuck twice during the courses and tried to call for help. However, the distance is way too much for just 1 supervisor to keep track of it and reach for help as needed (staff was good to help when we walked down to them and asked for help but he was quite away and there was no way he could have heard had we not been around the kid and heard him shout for help). The child had bruises and rashes because of the way he was stuck. Their website mentions that parents can relax whilst the kids go through the safe tree top (snippet of their website attached), which is quite misleading because in reality you are constantly needed to supervise the kids (elderly kids and the young one too specially if they are doing it for the first time). It is very hard to even have visibility of the elder kids after the first 2 courses. The remaining 2 courses are quite challenging (which is good) but hard for parents to keep track of and follow through from the wall way and so many areas are of course not accessible for us to walk through also. We didn't feel quite secure and safe for our kids to do it on their own without adequate staff supervision and no means or ways of contacting the staff for help (e.g. there could potentially be a button that can be provided to kids such that they can press that when they need help) if it is not feasible to invest in additional staff. The ticket price is not cheap and the facilities/amenities around aren't that great at all. There is no place for parents to sit also. Disappointed customer

Went today as a family. My husband and 10 year old did the green and blue courses (on the adult side). My 10 year old is pretty brave, she loves huge water slides for example, but she was quite daunted and trembling at first, and would have backed out if there had been a choice. By the end of the green course she was fine, but it's something to be aware of for juniors on the younger side who may be less adventurous. I supervised our younger two on the children's course. My 8 year old loved it, it was challenging but not so hard that she gave up. My 6 year old completed most of the first course without incident (though she found it really hard to get her pulley around the bends in the cable, I'm wondering how three year olds manage), but then she got stuck behind a smaller kid who was to scared to go down the zip line. The rest of the queued kids were getting restless and nervy, and my 6 year old lost her head, thinking she would be stuck there forever. After what seemed like an eternity of coaxing, the poor kid was eventually pushed down the zip line, and my daughter was not far behind. She refused to do any more after that. Not having a quick escape route on the children's course is a big design flaw. Terrified children as young as 3 are forced to complete the course, because there's no way off once you're on. Aside from that we did have a good time, and we will come back once my middle daughter is old enough to try the larger courses.

Fun courses. Friendly staff. Poor management.

We went there last Saturday for both Crazy Rider and Adventure park starting at 1pm. Crazy Rider was really fun and we never expected we could have 3 runs within the hour so we enjoyed it very much. The staffs were helpful and friendly who always greet you with a smile.

Then we had the Adventure park started at 2pm. We had played in the park in Coffs Harbour before so we skipped the first two levels but man there were so many people in each course waiting to get up to the tree. Someone before us got stuck just after climbed onto the first platform, we waited for at least 10 mins but no staffs were in sight. We didn't want to wait any longer so we raced to another course which happened to have no one waiting. We finished our first course within half an hour then we lined up for the second one.

That was when our nightmare begun. There were a lot of people in front of us and they kept getting stuck and eventually we spent over 45 mins just dangling mid air while the temperature kept plummeting because of high wind! No staff was found anywhere around the course! We yelled so loudly the whole park could hear, thats when one of the staffs showed up and offer some help. Now of course I know there were people who never played this before and I didn't blame them at all. All I want to say is that the management on staffs was really bad because there should have at least one staff per one or two courses. What if there was an emergency situation, there won't be any staff ready to help!

We finally finished the second course at 4pm. One staff promised us to give us half an hour more to play because of the delay. I wanted to try out the last course (the black one) and I saw there was no one at the starting point. However the same staff refused to let me get on because she said there were too many people already on that course and she was afraid I couldn't finish it before 5pm. She suggested me to play other course but there were at least 10 people waiting at another course that I haven't attempted. It would be easily 15 to 20 mins just to wait to get on. I felt upset so I decided to leave at 4pm. When I was unloading my gear, I saw people who started at 1pm (I know this because the staff wrote the start time on our hands) just finished unloading the gear, which means they played overtime, made us wait longer, all due to poor management from the park.

FYI, we completed all 4 courses on time during the peak season in Easter holiday when we were in Treetop Coffs Harbour. I don't think I will ever go back to...

Ok for little kids, but overall overpriced, understaffed, lack of amenities

The Good:

  1. plenty of parking if you don't go between 11am-1pm because it is in a park with lots of BBQ area so people do line up for parking
  2. Public toilets available at the bottom of the hill (100 meters away) and gets really really dirty (shared with the whole park, easily 300+ people on weekends)
  3. Climbing equipment is good condition
  4. staff does care about climber's safety
  5. various grades of difficulty available
  6. glove available and recommended because the wire cuts your hand during the climb
  7. the under 10 children area is really good and the black course (over 16+) but get there before the main crowd or there will be a long waiting time.

The Bad:

  1. Crazy Rider feels like a scam where we have to carry 3kg of gear up after each ride (adult would need to carry the unwieldly iron yoke for the kids) most only does 2 rides due to the effort of carrying the gear up the hill.
  2. understaffed, we were there on Saturday morning and only 1 staff at bottom of Green course to monitor the climbs.
  3. no alternative way to exit once you start a climb, we got stuck behind a climber that couldn't continue due to the difficulty so we were stuck in the middle of a climb for about 15 minutes and couldn't go forward or backwards.
  4. outdated COVID safety poster from Victoria that still says don't wear a mask unless you are sick with COVID.... and unsure about the effectiveness of sanitiser they are using... does it contain at least 70% ethanol to kill COIVD virus or just a generic placebo spray?
  5. lack of locker to store personal belongings and you can't put it in your pocket so literally staff just put it behind the counter (Bit of free for all)
  6. lack of shade from the sun so a lot of us had to squash into the area behind the counter (no social distancing) suggest that company build some shade behind the building for people waiting for the crazy ride.

Having talked to some of the staff, they are doing the best they can so it is up to the owner now to make the...
