Beautiful spot to stop for a night or 2. Unpowered $5.50/nt (plus 2 nights free complimentary). Powered $11/nt (plus 2 nights free complimentary). Katie the caretaker is AMAZING!! The lagoon is enormous and has a lovely long walking track around it with little signs telling about local flora and fauna. Amenities are fantastic and cleaned daily. Such a peaceful place to stay. Local foodworks within walking distance and incredibly well stocked. Definitely recommend. 👌👌

Great place to see a lot of birds and get a walk in. Please note that the walking trail doesn't go all the way around the lagoon.

Hats off to Western Downs Regional Council for what they are providing for caravaners & RV’s. Whilst I believe they have several of these low cost campgrounds, we have only stayed at Tara Lagoon Parklands. Unheard of value, $11 powered for the first three nights, or only $5.50 unpowered for the first three nights, then I believe it is $11 or $5.50 respectively, per night after that. New and very clean amenities, covered park benches (sensor lit after dark), and the pleasure of watching all the birdlife on the lagoon. And a very special shout out to their new manager Katie. Katie is just the most pleasant and helpful person, nothing is a trouble and she keeps the park very spick and span. Do yourselves a favour and stay at one of their low cost camps, you won’t be disappointed, but also remember to give back to these communities a little by having a pub meal, shopping in their towns (the FoodWorks in Tara is unbelievable), buying fuel etc, this helps keep them alive and having the low cost campsites remain open. We will definitely be...

Such a great place!

This beautiful peaceful place is somewhere for locals and visitors alike! Tara Lagoon Parklands public park includes irrigated lawns, gardens and footpaths; with a Council owned 62 site campground backing onto it.

The lawned areas and concrete footpaths are so well maintained, it easy to get access to the park, the playground, toilets, showers, facilities accessible to all, and the walking path around the lagoon.

You can't beat it for a lovely place to cool off and take a quiet minute. Just last week the official high school formal photos were taken at Tara Lagoon Parklands.

There are 62 camping sites, and dozens of public...

Just want to say a big Thank You to Ben & Katie caretakers of this lovely relaxing parkland. The place is lovely and clean, the amenities are spotless. The grounds are nicely mowed. This place has it all, play area for children, exercise equipment for those who are keen. Beautiful walk around the lagoon. The bird life if up early can be a treat, we saw birds we hadn’t seen before. We spent a week there and relaxed. Ben & Katie put on a sausage sizzle on Saturday evening where we could all gather and meet. Hats off to Ben & Katie for trying to make a difference...
