Our experience with Glenrock as a wedding venue has been nothing short of a nightmare, resulting in the squandering of a year's worth of organisation, planning, and travel. The fundamental issues we encountered can be summarised under three categories: Mismanagement, Communication, and Lack of Business Professionalism.

Mismanagement: Over the course of a year, we had the misfortune of dealing with three different general managers, each transition bringing its own set of challenges. Shockingly, it wasn't until they abruptly canceled our wedding that we discovered none of the managers had provided us with a proper contract, despite our persistent requests over several months. The lack of internal communication was glaring when, upon meeting the second manager, we found that all the details she should have had were incorrect, and she failed to offer a satisfactory explanation. While they eventually offered a reduced rate as compensation, the mismanagement severely tainted our overall experience.

Communication: The communication breakdown at Glenrock has been utterly frustrating. Our attempts to seek clarification on the cancellation of our wedding have been met with silence. They have, in essence, ghosted us during a critical time, leaving us in the dark about the status of our event. Additionally, we were not informed about the change in management initially, adding another layer of confusion and anxiety to our wedding planning process.

Lack of Business Professionalism: Glenrock's lack of professionalism has been evident from the outset. The absence of a proper contract left us vulnerable, and their failure to uphold the terms of the invoice amount only added to the chaos. Furthermore, they managed to book the wrong date, showcasing a careless approach to their clients' special occasions. To compound matters, after a deposit was paid for an agreed-upon quote, they later demanded additional funds, deviating from the agreed-upon terms.

In summary, our experience with Glenrock has been a colossal disappointment. The mismanagement, communication breakdown, and lack of business professionalism have marred what should have been a joyous occasion. We advise prospective clients to exercise extreme caution before considering Glenrock as their wedding venue, as our dream day turned into a year-long nightmare due to their egregious lapses in service and...

Writing these reviews is really unfortunate and not something we do lightly - but anyone considering a wedding at Glenrock should be aware of what occurred with us.

Our experience started fantastically and we could immediately envision our day at Glenrock.

However, our experience started going downhill rapidly when the internal chef and coordinators left and the organisation went into disarray. Invoicing was difficult to follow, inconsistent and we were issued a new invoice 2 months out. We were expected to cover the additional cost of a new caterer, including an unsubstantiated 9% inflation charge after we had paid our initial deposit.

Promises made from our initial consultation were failed to be delivered on and coordination on the day was minimal and negligible. There were many mistakes made on the day before and day of that had to be fixed by our wedding party, including staff not being present. In the months leading up communication was extremely poor, at times taking weeks to receive a response. We were on many occasions met with disdain from the general manager when requesting simple things (eg cutting of our wedding cake and turning lights off)

A wedding venue is the most expensive part of the day and so to be let down so significantly by the Glenrock team was very upsetting.

The place is so beautiful and we will always remember our day in the gardens, but the team and people we had to work with really let us down and we hope anyone considering Glenrock for their upcoming wedding can learn from...

It is hard to imagine what it looks like in Spring, however, when my wife and I visited Glenrock Gardens on 28 April, we were surprised to discover a picturesque paradise full of Autumn hues and the beautiful memory will stay with us for a long time.

Following is a poem (in English and Chinese )I wrote about our feelings and impressions of the beautiful Glenrock Gardens in Autumn hues:

Glenrock Gardens in April

Strolling in Glenrock Gardens, Dazzled by the hues of the leaves, Red, pink, green and yellow, Wondering if I found a paradise hidden.

The wind chimes singing in gentle breeze on the patio, While the fountain in the lake dancing to a swaying willow.

The fiery maples embrace me with joy and warmth, As if knowing I'm far, far away from home.

Chinese version:

秋访格兰洛克花园

格洛园林四月天, 红黄粉绿色斑斓 。 秋风轻吻风铃响, 垂柳湖边舞喷泉 。 遥念故园千里外, 红枫似火暖心田 。

Glenrock Gardens - a beautiful place and a must visit destination near Tenterfield. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. Service was excellent (special mention for Rose - our waitress - she is great!). The gardens are quite spectacular. A beautiful place to relax and dine. I am so very glad we found this amazing spot! Thank you, we will definitely be back very soon.

Beautiful garden, absolutely worth the entry and the drive it can’t praise it enough. The cafe definitely needs some work on how they are organising service as there was a lot of wondering who ordered what when. The staff were lovely but when there is such limited menus there really shouldn’t be as much confusion as their was

You definitely must visit these stunning gardens. Autumn is my favourite season, the colours are beautiful, falling leaves, meandering paths, water features and so much more. Annie and Chris have achieved magnificently after drought, bushfires , so do yourself a favour and visit the open gardens.
