Camped here over the weekend, was so beautiful, relaxing and quiet. The fire tower shows how remote this area really is. If you love the bush, and nature and you have a 4WD it's worth the drive. So much to see, with the caves, sculptures etc. Very spread out, would take a few days to see it all. The roads are rough in some spots and there was water over the road in some places from...

Amazing view! This fire tower is open to the public and provides amazing views of the Pilliga Forest area. One thing that struck me when looking at the view was how I could not see any man made infrastructure likes farms and buildings. I would recommend visiting this location for sunset as it provides some great photographical...

So anyway there you are in the middle of nowhere, driving happily along, only to hit the Salt Caves. This is a great spot. Great, sweeping views of the Pilliga are to be had from the top of the tower. Water is available in the tanks and the camp ground is pretty good for a night or two.
