I am giving the Thirlmere lakes 5 stars! I am also giving the human race 5 stars because if anyone can ruin something cool its the human race and if there was a competition on ruining things, the human race would be frontline winners! Sadly I don't think our species gets enough recognition for our ability to ruin something that has been in existence, quite happily for as long as Thirlmere lakes. Skills I tell you! The truth is that we have been destroying the Thirlmere lake system for years and despite recent rain, it is not the water ski park it used to be. No I am not interested, it would be like having a bath...

There are a few scattered toilets, Gas BBQs, picnic tables. There are no shelters here. Swimming is permitted, as is kayaking. As most Australian's are pyromaniac's I believe there are steep fines for burning in a national park. This a truly nice place just...

Highly recommended to those who like the quiet outdoors - suitable for 2WD although beware of a few corrugations...
