This is a great family beach. Sheltered by Melville Point and Barlings Island the waves rarely get too high. There's a nice walk around the rocks at Melville Point to Tomakin. The onsite cafe is average but there are a couple of nice cafes close by. Barlings Island is worth exploring at low tide and the water is clear enough to see the sea-life.
Great beaches nearby are South Broulee (patrolled) and McKenzies (rough but fun).

Read moreLovely beach, the park itself is a bit run down and needs some TLC. Our room had missing curtains, we were provided a broken trundler bed for our toddler. The stove didn't work because we weren't provided a lighter and the TV was almost completely obscured from view by the fridge. Very poor outdated air-conditioning for a hot day. I would consider other nearby options before staying here. But lovely location and friendly staff...
