Lovely historical building with a story to tell. Great volunteers and access for all walks of life. However a huge space for the only specific use of promoting art work. Art is important for identity, culture and relaxation. In this instance it is difficult to justify the renovation of the dwelling of the premise for a minimum of 1 million dollars to showcase paintings, photography etc. There are many public and privately owned opportunities in the region possibly 12 already. Some of the public owned areas like the old church gallery at Moore could utilise promotion and opportunities to display local showcases and draw income. Sure promote artwork but also include a little more including indigenous history which is relevant even to the town's namesake. Include history of airbase, farming, dams, local fish etc. Great premises but not used to full capacity...

What a wonderful and unexpected find on our Sunday drive home. We have stopped in this small country town quite a few times but have never come across this amazing building and gallery before. The lady at the front counter was pleasant and helpful, and we enjoyed our stroll thru the building, even tho the Barbie art was a wee bit odd to us. Love the sculptures outside, and the art in the bomb shelter. Love that the building has been retained and made use of once again. Fantastic re-use of the old condensed milk factory! Who knew?! Tho' hubby and friend both agreed that there could be so much more use made of it - a coffee shop, a function area, a gift shop for local artists/craftspeople and so on. And lots of signs all over the place so you know it's there and what it does!! But kudos to those who have revived it and...

Arrived this morning to see this gallery at around 10.10am. Sadly even though the sign on the door and everything online said they were open at 10am…. actually they weren’t! Had a walk around for 10-15 minutes…. no one showed. Checked facebook to see if they said they were going to be closed? Nope! … but they had posted less than 20mins before… Somewhat disappointing… when you have come up from Brisbane. Maybe it’s great, but I can’t say. What I would say, is it would be great NOT to waste people’s time by whoever is responsible using social media to say if they are going...

A very pleasant regional art gallery and tourist information centre. Housed in surviving Nestle condensed milk processing building. Original building form and structure retained in this clever refurbishment and re-purposing. Check out the old bomb shelter, set up as a local history display. Friendly and helpful staff very willing to help with information. Toilets and parking available, stones-throw from the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail for cyclists.
