Peaceful little nature conserve just outside the main township of Traralgon, with several gravel walking trails, all surrounding a beautiful pond with an abundance of bird life. Jetty walk crosses a section of the pond where you can stop to get a closer view of the waterhens, ducks, swans (and cygnets during the spring months!) Foreshore area where birds often meander about when they’re not swimming and several rotundas and tables/chairs available next to the foreshore. A small bridge overarches another section of the pond, where you can walk over to cross to the other side. Surrounded by beautiful bushland- it’s hard to believe it’s so close to suburbia! Small car parking area (not designated) at the top of the entrance to the conserve (accommodates approximately 20 cars) and well maintained...
Read moreWonderful place to go for a walk in a nice easy circular walk .on well maintaned tracks .very peacefull and relaxing .Lots of diffrent varities of bird life.Also a excellent place to take children .Take some bread and feed the ducks.A nice lake which used to be the water supply which was used to enable the early steam engines in Traralgon ( water was pumped down to the Railway Station approximatlly 2kilometers ).Also good for bike riding and disabillty scotters .Also good for people to push prams around the walking tracks.As well as wheel chairs.Also a couple of side tracks to enjoy.The reserve is maintaned by a group of dedicacted volunteers.Bring a picnic Lunch and enjoy relaxing beside the lake both out in the open or under the excelent...
Read moreNice place for a stroll around the lake, plenty of water birds and a good variety of other birds. The walking track is well maintained and the whole reserve looked clean and cared for. Lots of information boards around telling of the history of the reserve and its flora and fauna. Saw quite a few bird photographers while I was there.
