TLDR: served raw chicken

My group of four dined at Trentham restaurant on Saturday, 16 Aug 2025, for a 1:50 pm booking on the veranda. We ordered chicken involtini, salt and pepper squid, meatballs, and moroccan lamb. Unfortunately, after we had already eaten most of the chicken involtini, we opened a piece of one and realised it was visibly raw and undercooked. We then opened up another almost finished piece and realised it too was also raw and undercooked. Regrettably, we didn’t get a clear close up photo of the raw chicken in the blur of the moment, but it is retrospectively visible in our earlier photos. We notified waitstaff, who saw the undercooked chicken and took the dish back to the kitchen, telling us they would remake it. However, they returned with only one properly cooked involtini (just a third of the original dish) which confused and disappointed us. When we came up to pay, our main concern was making sure the incident was formally reported. The manager explained that the involtini are pre-cooked and reheated, and insisted it must have been just one chicken that was raw, and hence they only remade one of them (which is besides the point). They showed trivial concern that we all had unknowingly eaten raw chicken. While we quietly felt the replacement was inadequate compensation, our main focus was on encouraging them to lodge an incident report for the safety of future patrons. We were disappointed by the manager’s attitude- she seemed reluctant, insincerely apologetic, and at times passive aggressive. She eventually offered a refund for the involtini dish, which she gave with a frustrated tone. We considered this refund to be the bare minimum. No further gesture or compensation was made, besides telling us to call them if he had any further concerns. What was most concerning wasn’t the raw chicken, but the dismissive response from the manager. Serving undercooked chicken should be treated with far more seriousness and...

I had booked the place for my wedding in December. About 2 months before the wedding I called to book the tasting for the food, as the wedding coordinator had told us. We had many communication issues with her: she never answered the phone, didn't reply to our emails, said she'd call but didn't, etc, etc. In the end, someone else that finally picked up the phone helped us with the booking. We organized the trip (as we live in Sydney), and got there. When we arrived at the time of the appointment, with my mother-in-law and my husband's grandmother, they were confused, hadn't organized anything for us and when we asked to talk to the wedding coordinator, she arrived being incredibly rude, almost yelling at us. She printed her emails trying to demonstrate that it was our fault (although I had the emails we had sent her). We asked for a possible solution, explaining that we had flown from Sydney just for that but she was more focused on blaming us than in finding a solution. My mother-in-law asked her to check her attitude, given that we had our grandmother there and that I was pregnant. She just kept treating us really bad in front of other customers and staff... until we decided we were not having the wedding there. We couldn't imagine having the wedding with these people! being yelled at on my wedding day? Definitely not what you'd like on what is supposed to be the happiest day of your life. It was less than 2 months before the wedding and we ended up without a venue! It was really stressful and disappointing. On top of that, the lady told us that they were going to give us our deposit back (1.000 AUD) and they never did. Terrible experience!! I would not recommend anyone to rely on the services of this place. To finish the story: Luckily we found a beautiful venue and got to have an incredible wedding at a much better place, cheaper and with nice and...

You must try Trentham Estate wines, fortified, olive oil and their amazing balsamic vinegar.

We were very fortunate to visit the Estate this past April when traveling from interstate to Mildura. We arrived at Trentham via All Seasons Houseboat. Amazing way to travel to a Cellar Door.

We enjoyed the cellar door experience. Tasted the sensational wines produced by Trentham, their olive oil and their balsamic. Your staff member was very friendly, knowledgeable, kind and a very lovely person who made our visit extra special.

Their Estate grown shiraz 2023 is a must try and must buy. Their Cellar Reserve Verdejo 2024 is a sensational white.

If you’re into balsamic, you have to try Trentham’s Balsamic. It is extremely flavoursome with beautiful notes of honey like sweetness. Stunning!

We have just finished our wines we purchased when we visited the Cellar door, so we have joined the wine club to keep on enjoying Trentham Estate wines back home interstate.

Their cafe style food was delicious (didn’t get to do the fine dining this time) and their grounds are spectacular being positioned right on the Murray River.

Another must try is the Murray River Pink Salt which we purchased in the Trentham Estate Cellar door. It’s a must buy, I’ve never tasted a better salt!!

Thank you Trentham Estate for what you do. We will look forward to enjoying your wines from your wine club on a regular basis at home interstate....

This review has been a long time coming. My finance and I are in the process of planning our wedding and I honestly am so glad I have chosen Trentham and their team even well before our wedding has occurred. Belinda and the staff at Trentham Estate is an absolute pleasure and they have come up with an amazing package for us. We visited in April and found they have have a bit of a facelift in the form of a paint job and it looks amazing. We attended a menu and wine tasting there and could not be more impressed. Our guests are going to be blown away with the wine selections, especially the Merlot which feels like melted chocolate (and high praise from me who hates reds!!!). They also do a spectacular Pinot Gris and Frizzante Maestri which is waaaayyyyy too easy to drink! If you haven't been, I highly recommend you go. If you're planning a wedding, I cannot sing their praises enough with all the spectacular help they can provide. Belinda is an actual angel sent from the heavens to aid my most magical day!
