This is a sight to behold, I will call it just a walk from parking lot to get to the waterfalls. The hike to base of falls is now restricted but the view from the top is beautiful and to be honest the view changes a lot with rain so go there when it’s been raining for 3 days and you will be never forget the experience, some days it’s just a trickle so don’t bother going if it’s a dry spell. I have always seen it to have enough parking.

Trentham Falls, located in Central Victoria, is renowned for its impressive 32-meter single drop—the highest in the region. Here, the Coliban River cascades over striking basalt cliffs, characterized by large hexagonal columns formed from ancient volcanic activity.

A brief walk leads visitors to a viewing platform offering breathtaking vistas of the gorge and the waterfall. During winter and spring, elevated water levels enhance the spectacle, with the river powerfully descending into the gorge, creating a thunderous roar.

Situated within the 24-hectare Coliban River Scenic Reserve, Trentham Falls is surrounded by lush bushland that hosts over eighty native plant species, including manna gum, messmate, stringybark, and narrow-leaved peppermint. In spring, the area is adorned with a vibrant display of wildflowers.

While the Daylesford region is famed for its mineral spas, its array of stunning waterfalls, with Trentham Falls being a highlight, is equally noteworthy. This natural wonder is a must-see for visitors to the Daylesford and...

Recently, I embarked on an unforgettable adventure with friends—a hike to Trentham Falls in Central Victoria. Let me share the magic of this experience: 🏞️ The Spectacular Falls: Trentham Falls is a natural wonder, boasting the highest single drop of any waterfall in Central Victoria. As we approached, the sound of rushing water grew louder, and there it was—a 32-meter cascade plunging into the rocky gorge. Mind-blowing doesn’t even begin to describe it! ❄️ Shivering Cold Weather: We chose a chilly day for our escapade, and the crisp air added to the thrill. The mist from the falls hung in the air, creating an ethereal atmosphere. Our breaths turned to frost as we stood mesmerized by the raw power of nature. 🚶‍♂️ The Trail: The 3-kilometer hike from Trentham town to the falls was invigorating. Along the way, we glimpsed Stony Creek, crossed footpaths, and felt the anticipation build. The reward? A viewing platform that offered a front-row seat to this majestic spectacle. 🌿 Nature’s Embrace: Surrounded by lush greenery, we felt like explorers in a hidden paradise. The falls roared, the ferns swayed, and kangaroos grazed nearby. It was a mad adventure—one we’ll...

Lovely little place. Seemed pretty well-managed, so props to the rangers. Car park avaliable right nearby the falls, and the lookout is fairly easily accessible by stairs. There were toilets- were out last time i was here, but plenty of bushes around. If you choose to climb down to the falls, be very, VERY careful, as it can get slippery and muddy even with 25° sunny weather. Even more careful climbing up, especially holding on to rocks or tree branches- they're not all stable. It wasn't a long climb but a little strenuous for me, at least (was quite sore the next day lol). Did get a lot of bruises and scratches, mostly from the damn blackberry bushes you'll find everywhere, so watch out for those (try not to eat!). If you're thinking of swimming there, DON'T! I'd advice not to, the waters were freezing and not in a pleasant way, also really hurt to walk on the rocks that surrounded the pool all over, i did injure my foot :( if u don't mind cold waters and swimming in boots go for it, otherwise absolutely not worth it. Overall, cool place to check out and maybe set up camp it was...
